Locals Restaurant in now located at the historic Old House along the river in the center of town. This 1937 Arts and Crafts era inspired homestead is the perfect location for the fine cuisine prepared by European trained chef, Ronald St. Pierre.
Our dinning experience at Locals was first class. We could taste the freshness of the ingredients and perceive the skills and knowledge of the chef. In such a small town we where surprised by the food. To start with and courtesy of the restaurant we had couple of little treats. My husband had the Pacific Rim Bouillabaisse and I had the Fresh Pacific Halibut fillet. Both options where delicious and satisfying and so was the green salad we shared ( very fresh local ingredients). Our orange special dessert was tasty and the courtesy truffle was delicious. The restaurant is on the pricy side I have to warn. Thank-you so much for your positive feedback and attention to detail of what we take pride in! So glad you enjoyed your visit.

Even though i had researched this place prior to our trip for a late lunch as part of our stopover in Campbell River on our way from Victoria to Telegraph Cove it did not get the wow factor until we arrived there and it was such a surprise as the internet just cannot give justice to this place- it is beautiful beyond beliefIt is in the grounds of recently rennovated Kingfisher Resirt and Spa right on waters edge with beautiful garden and outdoor terrace to restaurantWe had in fact two starters which were not only incredibly generous in portion but reasonably priced and with the freshest of no doubt local products. We had a taco with raw tuna and vegetbles anda wild mushroom trt with rocket and feta cheese - we could eat that every week indefinitely and not tire of itThis was on eof the best meals we have had during our two weeks in British Columbia

For those who have already found it, the charm of bisque comes as no suprise. The fast paced lunch changes to a relaxed evening out. Just steps away from the heart of downtown shopping, our Fresh West Coast Menu includes local seafoods, lamb, fresh pasta,
We were seated in a cubby hole looking at walls. Not a good impression. Had a Caesar salad with just about no dressing on it. The main course was good. I had the special rock cod with a prawn ginger sauce. Was tasty but I think they forgot the ginger. But still tasted good. oh the special was 27.95 Caesar was 9.95. It was pricey. The other people with me thought the same thing. Portions were good for me but a big eater would be looking for more on the plate.

We went there twice in a row, because we were quite happy first time. (On business trip to Courtney with my wife.) I had seafood platter which was quite good. 3 fish pcs, fried oysters, and few scallops. Tasty. My wife had halibut - good but bit dry. Next time we had shrimp dinner - sauteed shrimps with yam fries (+ $2) - very good. :)
