We visited this restaurant last year (2018) and were very impressed by the menu, dining room and staff. However on our return to Port Appin recently, we again visited The Pierhouse, this time deciding on a Bar Meal. We had heard that the hotel was now under new management and had new members of staff, including the Chef but as the Menu was still very inviting we ordered our meal and two San Miguel lagers. Prior to receiving our first course, which was Cullen Skink, one member of staff brought our bread in a basket. However on receiving our soup about ten minutes later we were not provided with side plates. The main course of Haddock and chips etc which one of us had a very smooth batter, not crinkly and crisp as this traditional dish should be and it became soft and soggy in a short time. We would recommend that anyone having a meal here should check their bill before paying as a glass of Merlot had been added to ours and although both lagers we had were the same, one had been listed as a different variety which was dearer. The experience left us feeling service was totally disorganised and was a great disappointment to us. We shall not be returning in future.Dear SkimbaliteThank you for taking the time to leave this review for us; we very much welcome all feedback and do our best to use the comments in a constructive way. We are sorry that you were disappointed with your second visit to us. We have recently had new members of staff join the team, and your comments have highlighted that there are some areas of training that need to be reviewed. We can only apologise for this, and assure you that it will be addressed in the immediate future. With regards to the batter on the fish - we have discussed this with the head chef, and he has now changed the batter to a new and improved recipe made with Black Isle organic lager. We do hope that you will come back and visit us again, as we have - on this occasion - obviously fallen short of the great service and attention to detail that we would like all of our guests to experience. Kind regardsFiona McLeanGeneral Manager

We look forward to have you here with us. We serve local produce in a beautiful setting overlooking Oban Harbour from Oban Marina on the Isle of Kerrera, accessible by ferry or sailing yacht. Now Open Lunch: Thursday - Sunday 12:00 - 14:30 Dinner: Tuesday
Menu is pretty predictable, lasagne, fish, steak etc.We were berthed in the marina for a couple of days and tried this place on the first night,we went into Oban on the second night ! Waiting staff were a bit confused regarding what was actually the house wine or the guest wine.I queried this on the bill and they took off one soft drink from the total...big thank you for that one ! Nice location looking acrossthe bay to Oban.Food was average but felt the prices were a bit steep. We all enjoyed what we ordered, but sorry,no "X" factor to pull me back again.

Had a lovely meal in Cuan Mor. I was on a working trip and this restaurant was recommended by a local resident....thank goodness they did. It was busy but they staff handled it very well. Staff were efficient and pleasant. We ordered surf 'n turf and it was fantastic.Desert ordered were waffle and sundae...they didn't disappoint...superb!Will definitely return when visiting Oban and would recommend.

Every time Iâm in Oban I eat here, take it away & eat by the sea. Cooked fresh to order, lovely light batter & great chips. The haggis is fantastic too!Dear LandBW7568Thanks for your continued custom and for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review.Best wishesJohn, Wendy & the team

What a little gem of a place this is. Friendly, cheerful service. Top quality.Good prices - i e (1) 6 superb dressed oysters on ice, with lemon - £5.70 (95p each), an absolute steal! (2) Equally good sandwiches, if anything crammed too much with top notch prawns and salmon - £3.60 each. It's just shame we only found the OSH on the last day of our holiday in delightful Oban!Highly recommended.

Set in idyllic Oban on the North West coast of Scotland, Waterfront Restaurant offers sumptuously fresh fish and seafood in a cutesy boathouse-style setting. Whilst enjoying stunning views over Oban Bay, guests can sample fine local catches, delicious fis
the restaurant was in a great location and the venue/décor seemed great. The room was like a giant echo chamber that made it very difficult to have any conversations, even with the person next to you. The food took beyond forever to appear - almost as if the entire event came to them as a surprise. Once it arrive, it was excellent, but the initial wait and the wait between courses were far too long. I had a front row view of the kitchen and watched the chaos as the staff tried to plate the food. It was almost like a comical movie. The serving staff tried their best. One member of our group had a serious food allergy, asked repeatedly with every course if there was garlic in the food and was told repeatedly no. Then they returned to take away a plate that they gave her because it did (!) contain garlic, she was sick to be sure. One plate was shattered, sometimes can't be helped, but just added to the chaos. I left before dessert, couldn't take the racket. Perhaps on a quieter night with fewer people it would be a great place for seafood - the food itself was fine.

Ee-usk is a modern glass building sitting right by the water in the busy harbour of Oban.We believe in serving impeccably fresh local seafood cooked simply. We are unable to accommodate children under 12 years of age for dinner.
Visited with my husband after a previous visit with a friend in August. I had raved about this place to my husband but I must say that this visit wasn't as good as the last. We had a nice table at the window downstairs as opposed to the last time in August when I was upstairs but I don't know...the atmosphere wasn't the same! We had booked for 7pm and it was quite busy and I felt that we were a bit rushed. Maybe because it was Sunday and the staff had had a busy weekend, we'll still go back because the food is good, maybe at New Year when we are staying in Oban for 4 nights.

BAAB Meze & Grill is a lively Eastern Mediterranean restaurant located in the centre of Oban, facing the harbour and a 1 minute walk from the train station and ferry terminal. Our menu has something for everyone with grilled meats from our charcoal grill,
We always like this middle eastern style of food and were very excite when we saw this restaurant and were able to park just along the road. The food was as good as we hoped as was the service. I can't remember her name now and we do apologise for that but we know she was off to Peru and her service was excellent. We wish her well and thanks again for being such a joy.A lovely big room, a long way to find the loos but the food was what we were there for and that was great.

We walked in and was able to get a table for 3. The food is fresh and nicely presented. The dinner is reasonably priced. Staffs are attentive even though they are busy. We had a great evening.

Whilst staying nearby we were pleased to find somewhere to eat, which didnât involve a car journey and which took dogs. The people were most welcoming and service was prompt. The menu had good choices but unfortunately the langoustines werenât available. The fish and chips and cranachan were all good.
