Things to do in Chitre
I had driven by this restaurant several times and finally made the decision to stop last night. Clean open air restaurant with plenty of overhead fans to be confortable while dining. Nice decorations and the tables are hand painted with different themes. Service was good. I ordered the pechuga a la plancha with french fries. Served on a hot metal platter which tended to over cook the chicken. The salad was fresh and a nice portion. Will return in the future to try another platter possible fish. The restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday and opens other days at 3PM
The restaurant has a rather large, extensive menu. I decided on a pork chop dinner with french fries, soup and salad. It is a large restaurant with inside a/c dining and outside dining tables. In the dining area where I was seated there were about 5-6 occupied tables. I watched as more than 15-20 take out orders were filled and none of the tables in my area were served food. After 30 minutes of waiting and saw no food delived to any tables, I paid for my beverage and said to the waitress I would not wait any longer. Very poor service.

I have known this restaurant for years as it was introduced to me by my parents. It may be a bit difficult to find at night but basically you take the Circumvalating Road that goes around the outskirts of Chitre which would be to your left when coming from La Villa, then it goes downhill and and then when it turns right again watch for the gas station and Chitre Transport Terminal, you should take that road and go up that road. The restaurant will be around the 2nd or 3rd road to the left on a small side road that leads to it.The menu is varied and the seafood is VERY fresh. Whatever you choose you can't have it wrong. It is not gourmet but it has very reasonable prices (around $10/person max.), it's fresh and healthy. Easy to accompany with a cold beer. For example the Fish sticks ("deditos de pescado") are not of the frozen kind, they are self made from fresh fish. You can also have whole fish, etc. Make sure to accompany it with "patacones" (fried plaintain) and/or fried Yuca. You will be served by the owners most of the times which are very polite and recognize recurring clients (very few restaurant attendants in Panama do that) which kind of gives it the personal touch.Whenever I am around this area I always come to this restaurant for dinner, just can't get tired of it. At night please wear trousers if you don't want to be bothered by mosquitoes, not many but hey, it is the tropics.

Wonderful seafood, a great view of Chitre and beyond and very attentive service. What more is there? We greatly enjoyed our lunch and got to experience plenty of locals enjoying a very unique location. We know why this place is so popular with the locals: Good food, GREAT service and good value.

Ate here two nights during a visit over Semana Santa. Tried the ribs, the lomo, and the fish ... and can highly recommend the first two (the fish was only mediocre). Also, avoid the mozzarella stick appetizer, which was disappointing. Service was wonderful both evenings, with both young waiters speaking very good English, making good recommendations, and on the second night offering us special "juice" (beer, that is) during the normally dry days of Semana Santa.
