Visited as a table of six for Sunday Lunch. Very enjoyable experience and the range of fish dishes was amazing (although a traditional Sunday lunch was also available). Various starters, and the Prawn Cocktail was particularly tasty. Most of us went for the sole with scallops/prawns, cooked to perfection, with a range of side dishes including an excellent cauliflower cheese. First class service throughout, especially as we unfortunately spilt some red wine but the staff response to the accident was exemplary.

I originally suggested this restaurant for a bottomless brunch following pervious very positive visits. Unfortunately, it appears to have gone dramatically down hill since then and itâs safe to say I will not return and neither will any of the others who attended the brunch. The service was painfully slow throughout the whole dining experience .. our table was booked for 2.45pm and despite ordering within 20 minutes of arrival, we didnât leave until 7pm. Our starters were brought over after a 1 hour wait. To our disappointment, they appeared to have run out of Malaysian Chicken Strips (they had various parties of 20+ people dining at the same time but a lack of staff and evidently supplies too) but instead of notifying us, they served each person their chicken salad with one chicken strip each. We were offered a complimentary desert when we raised this issue. The mains then arrived around 1.5 hours later and were below average, the Goats Cheese and Pesto Tagliatelle was very watery and a hair was found in the food. None of us managed to finish our mains despite building up quite an appetite during the wait. Shortly after finishing our complimentary desserts, we were approached by a young waitress who politely let us know that they needed the table back so we'd have to finish up. I must note that the young waitresses were all very kind and attentive and should not be held at fault. A few moments after, we were approached by a middle-aged blonde lady who told us (quite rudely) that weâd need to move on as they needed the table back. As we made our way a few of the girls popped to the bathroom whilst we waited in the reception area for our taxi (a short 5 minute wait). We were firstly asked by the blonde lady to wait in the porch as âthere were a lot of people coming in and outâ which we accepted despite all 9 of us being squashed into the porch of the Blue Crown. After a couple of minutes, the blonde lady began to sigh repeatedly and mutter under her breath making us feel really quite uncomfortable and then said âyouâre taking up too much space .. Iâm going to have to ask you to wait outsideâ .. in the rain. We had just paid over £250 to dine at your overpriced restaurant and had since been thrown outside in the rain.
