Put simply, Dough on Main, offered good food, but we have now retired! Thank you to all who stopped in â whether only once, from time-to-time or once a day! We enjoyed 7 wonderful years delighting you!
Dough on Main was recommended to me by someone who is probably the most hyper-critical restaurant goer I have ever met. I trust her judgment and she eats here regularly. Well, she was right. The eggplant sandwich with pesto was delicious and substantial. I almost couldn't finish it, but it was so good, I couldn't stop. I will definitely be back to try the other sandwiches and homemade pastas. The place is small and has a homey vibe. There's one small table in the window (there are steps) and a larger dining table next to the coolers. Prices are on the high side for Connecticut (average or below-average for New York City), but totally worth what you are paying in terms of quality and freshness. I'm sold.Thank you for your great review. We are pleased that a savvy friend and regular customer enticed you to give us a try and that you were pleased. Your reaction to our food is one we continually strive for. Again, thanks! And we do hope you can visit again soon.

Casual waterfront dining located in the Brewer's Dauntless Shipyard. A bit hard to find but defintely worth the effort. Abby's Place serves American cuisine with a flair, specializing in fresh, locally sourced meats and seafood.
Terrific veggie burger with pesto. The crab soup was very good and the chicken sandwich was tasty. Our waitress was very accommodating as was the owner. Unfortunately the waiter had an issue when we arrived and asked not to be seated next to the door as it was very cold outside and didnât want our two year old granddaughter to be subjected to that. We simply asked to be seated at the adjacent table that had a reserved sign on it when he told us that they had a reservation. We informed him that so did we and he didnât seem to understand arguing that they had called ahead which we informed him that we did as well. Finally the owner came out of the kitchen and placed us at the âreservedâ table we had asked for originally. It could have turned ugly but we appreciated the owner settling the issue.

As Iâve said on many many of my reviews, there are three things that are important when visiting a restaurant. Service/Price/Food. This place is actually possibly the most beautiful restaurant Iâve ever seen. Situation on then CT river, overlooking it from like a giant deck. This is definitely a fair weather place to visit, it would be no fun without the sun, but for pure beauty at sunset Iâm yet to seer anywhere that rivals it. I had a chicken burger which was actually really nice sometimes chicken can be dry, but this wasnât and it was actually really nicely cooked. Go, but only when its sunny.
