Ate here recently on an overnight to the city, good Chinese and for a Monday very brisk trade. Had some dim sum followed by pork and pak choi with egg fried rice, with a couple of beers around £30. Recommended!

Chips were nice so was the curry sauce and mushy peas. Cod was small and my partner had large haddock which smelt funny and tasted funny so he couldn't eat it. Rang and told the manager and all he could say was we would get our money back for the haddock. Not good enough after waiting 25 mins to collect it. This is why I'm reviewing it as poor.Hi Julie,Thank you for your feedback and sorry you feel your first experience was bad. Can you just explain what you mean when you say the âCod was smallâ In terms of the Haddock, Iâm not sure what could be wrong as I know it comes in fresh every Friday morning straight off the boat. It would be helpful if you could bring it back so that we can investigate. What would you suggest as an alternative to offering you a refund ? We would be happy to offer you a replacement instead perhaps ?Thank you.

The entire experienced left me lacking. We ordered the set menu meals as to be able to see the variety the restaurant could offer and to be honest, it was okay. We ordered the fish soup and mackerel for starters and they were stunning. The most delicate and beautiful fish we have had in a while. But the mains were not as impressive - it was as if two different restaurants made them. They were sad, under seasoned and extremely disappointing.I canât complain about the service - it wasnât bad nor great. I wouldnât go there again but if you live fresh sea food I would not discourage you from giving it a goHi Otheblogger, we'd really appreciate the opportunity to turn around your experience, Please can you get in touch when you have a spare moment 01223 362433

Came on a Saturday evening as visiting Cambridge for our wedding anniversary. We found the Hakka on Tripadvisor and we are so pleased we did. I must have driven past it several times as our son was at nearby Jesus College, but never noticed it - the power of social media .....As intimated by others this is a âone man bandâ. Ok, service may not be what used are used to from chains, but it is all freshly cooked and Daniel was happy to advise on selections. Starters were superb. I can in particular recommend the crispy lamb with pancakes and the Dim Sum.Mains were equally tasty and original. The chicken satay may be too hot for some but I loved it. The barbecue pork and the prawns we had were to die for. Accompanied by special fried noodles. This is a small restaurant, maybe 32ish covers, and there is no overpowering music blasting out. And at the end Daniel kindly arranged a cab for us, and told us when it was outside.A very enjoyable and memorable meal. Thank you Daniel. When back in Cambridge we will return, deffo.

Independent British restaurant offering quality freshly prepared and cooked food with excellent service. Menu biased towards fresh fish with meat,Vegetarian and Gluten Free options.
What a great find. Although it was early in the evening we came across this restaurant looking for somewhere to eat on a Friday evening. Although it was busy, they found a table for us downstairs. Service was excellent and we all chose from the pre-theatre menu where we had 3 courses for £20 which excludes drinks and extras. The quality of the food and the presentation were both really good and we really couldnât fault anything. One of the best meals weâve had as a group of 6. You wonât be disappointed.
