Most Popular Seafood food in Brooklyn, New York, United States

Discover Restaurants offering the best Seafood food in Brooklyn, New York, United States. It seems like most folks have a grandmother, great-uncle or some other distant relative that used to live in Brooklyn, or perhaps a friend that lives there now. In the early 1900s, it was a mecca for immigrants arriving via Ellis Island. A hundred years later, young professionals and artists left pricey Manhattan digs for Brooklyn's cheaper and more expansive space. Neighborhoods like Brooklyn Heights and Park Slope, which had fallen into disrepair over the years, were restored and reborn as funky enclaves. Walk or bike over the historic Brooklyn Bridge (or ride the subway) to Brooklyn Heights for a stroll along the Promenade and breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline. Meander through Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for a taste of nature in the urban wilds. Catch a performance at the world-famous Brooklyn Academy of Music. From the delicious Italian restaurants of Bensonhurst to the Irish bars that line the avenues of Bay Ridge, from the hotdogs and rollercoasters of Coney Island to the bagels and handball courts of Greenpoint, Brooklyn is a state of mind as well as a dynamic community. Discover why, no matter where people move on to, they remain Brooklynites at heart.

We had a reservation at 8 pm but we where seated in a waiting area and offered a drink, which of course we had to pay. When I went to ask at 8:20 to find out about our table, a very unpleasant discussion evolved with a person who said he was the manager. Finally we were seated, food was ok, waiter a bit overwhelming, the bottle of wine we ordered wasn’t available so we had to choose for a more expensive one. Overall not a good experience for a usd 300 dólar meal for three.

After reading the reviews I had high expectations. The wine recommendations were excellent but the waiter was a bit pushy recommending too much food! We had a seafood/veggie combo appetizer and the Sicilian rice balls. Be prepared for fish and shrimp complete with heads and eyes. My sister did not like her grilled seafood plate, it looked a little too fresh from the sea. The pastas were good but a bit too al dente. Super loud once it fills up, can't really have a conversation. Next time I'll try somewhere else. Cute little place and Spring Street is a fun area for strolling.

New Orleans style absinthe and oyster bar

Place was jam packed on a beautiful Saturday night as are many restaurants in nyc. We had a reservation for 7:00, so we walked in and got seated immediately. As we are just sitting down, the hostess proceeds to tell us that they "need the table back" at 9 pm. We are three girls celebrating a friend's birthday dinner. We have all traveled around the world and eaten in many of the top restaurants in NYC and abroad, and that was our first experience hearing something so RUDE. If that is the restaurant's policy, then they should make absolutely sure that upon making a reservation, the people are told just that. Because then I can decide if I actually want to dine there or not. We had a great server named Daniel. He was extremely attentive to us, very kind, and he was really busy. We expressed to him at almost 8:30 that most of our food hadn't even come out yet which he obviously realized, and your hostess is telling us we have to leave in a half hour!!!??? He told us not to worry and it wasn't a problem that the table was ours. Nice, being that we ordered a ton of food, oysters, cocktails, and dessert and spent plenty of money there. Aside from the hostess comment, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The restaurant is beautiful, the oysters were delicious, we loved our cocktails and our server Daniel was terrific.
