Things to do in Brinchang
We wanted to have steamboat but the restaurant we intended to eat at was closed. This restaurant was our last resort. We had to wait at least 10 minutes before we were actually given our menu, let alone have our table cleaned. Service was done without a smile. The only reason we stayed on at this point was because we were so hungry and knew no other place for steamboat nearby. When we finally did get the menu we thought the price per head for a steamboat meal was rather steep considering we are unable to choose what we want. It was not a buffet like most steamboat places I've been to, but rather they have a set amount and choice of items. So if you don't like something on the platter, you're most likely stuck with it. Flavour-wise, it was alright, nothing to write home about. We had the tom yum (it's either that or chicken soup), and it was rather salty. It served its purpose to fill our tummies but that was about it. A lot of stuff went to waste as we were not too keen on certain items. I understand that it was a full house when we arrived and there was not enough staff on the floor to clean up/take orders/serve customers. I would have overlooked all that if they could at least fake a smile to make customers feel welcome. Instead we felt like an added burden to them for coming at such a peak hour. Remember, the F&B line requires staff to have people skills; that's what keeps the customers happy (on top of quality food). I'm not sure if I would recommend this place to anyone unless there wasn't any other choice available. However, I am willing to give this place a second chance, maybe I was just there on a really bad day. But first impressions are important, so another person might not be as forgiving.

Best Charcoal Steamboat in town since 1965! We also server seafood as well as Chinese Cuisine. Stop by and give it a try!
We were attracted by the charcoal option as something different from what we were used to back home. The service staff were friendly and helpful, suggesting that we order three adult portions for our family of two adults and three kids (below 10). Service was prompt in terms of soup top up and additional condiments (cut chilis). No hard sell by the service staff. Soup was tasty.Thank you for the review, please come again!
This place newly open this year - January 2018 in this new area in Tanah Rata (turning left before the Tanah Rata Police station if you're coming from Ringlet.Unless you know or heard of this place from the local or Malay friends, you most likely won't know. Operate by Malay, hence certified halal. For now, at RM30 per adult + RM10 for a small bowl of cheese (for grill session) - all you can eat: seafood, meat (100% no pork), fresh vegetable, fruits, ice cream and lots of drink choices (no alcohol). They have noodles and rice too. With such cooling weather, steamboat and grilling your food is not a problem at all. Unlike other steamboat places where you pay for a fix amount of food serving, this allow you to eat as much as you want. As you know Cameron is famous for vegetables, hence, this will be the best place to eat all you want greens!Due to space limitation, be careful when you move around and if you have kids. Best to be seated outside, fresher air and less smoky/stuffy. If you're not someone very particular with food, this will be a good place to hangout for free-flow of food. Go for the Tomyam soup.

(This review is the similiar to my other review of Watercress Valley because both refer to the same tourist attraction and restaurant, and my personal experience) Stopped here to have lunch last Saturday. When i ordered the set lunch worth Rm 70 in the menu, one of the item was sweet and sour fish roll. But when the 'fish roll' was served,i was greatly disappointed. It was a type of fish biscuit, which tasted like those vegetarian fish meat.Awful.They could have at least cooked cheap fish fillet like doryfish etc, instead. The so called buddha hand citrus omellete also did not have any buddha hand citrus in it. Its just plain omellete. Before serving the main courses, the waiter gave us a plate of pickle or candied fruits which i initially thougth was FOC.The soup served was ok only, not great. There was no service. We had to get the utensils etc ourselves and the cutleries were quite dirty. The waiters were very unfriendly and gave us a stern, unhappy look whenever we asked for assistance. There were flies all around contaminating the food too. When footing the bill,i was more shocked and angry.Besides the Rm 70 and Rm 10 for 2 drinks, i was charged for the napkin at Rm 1 and a small bowl of pickled fruits(which i did not order) at RM 4.Paying RM 85 +GST for a small bowl of watercress soup,a simple omellete,a plate of fish biscuits(very cheap materials),flies hopping on your food and lousy service is just not worth it.The only ok part was the scenery and cool breeze. DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE!!! IT IS TERRIBLE!!!
