This review is repeated because my original one seems to have disappeared? We visited Tempio Di Norzia last year (aug 2103). At the end of august Bolsena is pretty quiet and the restaurants are very quiet. We found this restaurant by chance, from the main square keep walking till you get to the arch.Keep ahead and keep to the right following the road in line with the bike shop. The restaurant is hiding just around a corner! The Tempo Di Norzia is family run, Dad and son run the floor whilst mum and daughter run the kitchen. Its a great team. They are very friendly and obliging. The mussels were the best we'd had, the burger was chosen twice by our fussy teenager and was wolfed down both times, the pork snitzel is highly recommended. At the end of the meal complimentary limoncella and grappa was enjoyed and appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed two meals here. Our only regret is that we didnt find the restaurant sooner! We will certainly go back if we go to Bolsena again. The Simpsons

Our lunch here was a big disappointment. The restaurant is located on a main pedestrian street that sees lots of tourists. We arrived soon after it opened on a Sunday and sat inside to avoid any smokers sitting outside. We were the second couple served. Service was fast and friendly from a young server who preferred to speak English with us. We ordered sparkling water and red house wine. The server quickly brought these to the table. She even brought us some fresh warm bread, olive oil, and a plate without us having to ask for it. Wonderful! For our antipasti, we ordered a bruschetta pomodoro. It was brought to the table nicely presented on a wooden board. We had a really good feeling about this restaurant based on how things were going so far. From that point on though, our meal went downhill fast. The bruschetta had no rubbed garlic on the toasted bread (not good), and the tomatoes came right out of the fridge (really not good). Tomatoes should always be served fresh since chilling them robs them of their flavor. The bruschetta was drizzled in olive oil (good), but didnât have any sprinkled salt on it (not good), and no basil on top either (also not good). For our main dish, we ordered penne arrabiatta and spaghetti with shrimp. Both dishes were poor. The penne was cheap supermarket mini-penne of some kind. The pomodoro sauce was not spicy and lacked any real flavor. It was also too al dente and seemed to be cooked in water without any salt. The whole dish was bland, over chewy, and tasteless. It came served in a huge pile in a bowl. The portion size was way too much to eat, indicating quantity over quality. I tried to fix it by adding some olive oil, salt, and some of my own peperincino. But it was hopeless. The spaghetti was better but the shrimp came unpeeled and several of them were still cold â a sure sign of using frozen shrimp. We told the server about the still cold shrimp but nothing happened as a result. Parmeasan cheese was brought to the table without asking but it too was chilled from being in the fridge. To be honest, all three of these dishes could have â and should have â been sent back to the kitchen. The house red wine and olive oil were good. No complaints there. Still, this meal which started off so well ended up being a huge disappointment, especially since it was our first lunch on this trip to Italy. To make matters even worse, we discovered later that we were overcharged an extra antipasti (we only ordered one to share).

In the heart of the medieval castello of Bolsena this is a local family bar restaurant just yards from my second home.It is basic and no frills but the Pizzas have been unswervingly good e for 10 years. The house wine is very pleasant and the service is excellent. There are tables in the cobbled street outside and there is always a happy and relaxed atmosphere . Really handy after sight seeing in this stunning location. The perfectly preserved castle is just 40 yards away with its amazing lake views and aquatic museum. If you are in the Castello in the morning their cappuccino is delicious.

A sunday lunch totally ruined. We were four of us and found ourselves in the worst situation ever. 2 hrs seated to manage to have a pasta dish while other clients were leaving and the staff arguing and screaming! We cancelled the rest of the order and left as well, still hungry! Even worst was the fact that they didn't try to apologise or offer something, just ignoring everybody. What we managed to eat was disgusting. You simply avoid it! We simply want to forget about this experience!

Large air conditioned room, able to accommodate up to 150 people, and a lush flower garden are the spaces that the Ristorante La Pineta is dedicating its guests to enjoy a delicious a la carte menu or to organize banquets and parties for every occasion. A
We dined at La Pineta whilst staying at the Hotel Royal a short - but very pleasant - walk away. We knew we had arrived when we saw inviting flickering lights lining the drive. The restaurant has several different areas including gazebos in the grounds (good for romantics) an outdoor dining area with views of the lake, and an airy indoor dining room which was our choice. I found my van Gogh style chair a little uncomfortable, but our hostess quickly found me a cushion. The service was excellent throughout our meal.I chose the set menu at 25 euros: 6 starters from the lake, followed by homemade pasta with seafood ragu, lake fish with mixed salad and dessert. Our non-fish eater had a magnificent salad, beautifully presented with thinly sliced apple and peach, mozarella and tomatoes. The starter with six lake fish was particularly good - it included different combinations of tastes and fish cooked in a variety of ways. Next we had pasta, and then eel, and beef in balsamic sauce with grilled vegetables. For dessert three of us had lemon sorbet and the fourth chocolate mousse.

Stopped by Trattoria da Picchietto for lunch on the way from Rome to Florence by road. What an excellent decision on the part of our driver/guide.The food was excellent. Not to heavy with a great combination of the traditional appetizers and a nice combination of surf and turf.To add to the dining experience, we were seated outside under a canopy of grape vines with plump grapes hanging off them.Would highly recommend.

This is an average restaurant with good Italian food but not worth the hype. It's located in a beautiful olive trees field with a beautiful patio , so it has a great atmosphere in the summer if you reserve a table outside by the garden. But it's often overcrowded with screaming children and huge Italian families tables, so be aware. Food is ok , nothing to die for .

Small little town I never knew existed, yet a restaurant that offers food and service you could find in a top restaurant in a big city! A very different menu but lovely experience. Stunning decor and brilliant service! Not a place for children however! But certainly a treat for a dinner out for two!Highly recommended!
