Superb new Restaurant, Bar and Hotel in this charming village on the Canal du Midi specialising in wonderful fresh fish.
I visited this restaurant on recommendation from my local B&B hosts. Making a reservation is essential as it is popular with the locals. At dinner time they only had a choice between theee different types of set menus where you can choose between various options for starters, main and dessert. I had the most amazingly fresh oysters, a pan fried cod dish with a number of vegetables and a peach melba. Each dish was stunningly tasty and well presented and I must say it was a most satisfying dinner.Service was relatively quick but I arrived before all the tables filled up (even at 9pm all tables were full and more people were coming in). The wait staff were cheerful and despite only speaking very limited English, managed to serve me without issues. I used my extremely limited understanding of French and google translate to fill the gaps. They didnât have English menus but that was not an issue as the wait staff that did speak English will explain things where necessary. This is a restaurant not to be missed if you are anywhere nearby in places such as Beziers, Serignan, Portiragnes, Agde etc or passing by on a boat on the canal midi.

After our 1st visit three or fours years ago, by chance we had the opportunity to revisit La Brasserie Barba. We ordered the Formula Lunch menu, which was very attractively priced and the appetiser, entrée and main were all very well presented, extremely edible, fresh and very tasty. The ambience here is first class

Don't see anything like this in UK but not that unusual on the continent. Serving various fresh oysters, Fresh cooked crabs, Dublin bay prawns, giant prawns, brown shrimp, mussels, etc. etc. If you like this type of fresh crustaceans and molluscs to take home or eat on their small covered terrace with a glass or bottle of local wine, then this IS the PLACE!!

Just adjacent to Les Halles market place in central Beziers, Les Dames des Halles offers authentically produced seafood with a smile and a chilled glass of local sunshine. It's a friendly, welcoming locals' bar/restaurant sited next door to a perfect French bar (forget the name I'm afraid). What a combination to delight. I am not a great lover of seafood but even I was carried along by the infectious enthusiasm and the aromas!
