I'm surprised about the positive reviews of this place, as it was one of the worst chip shops I've been to. Unfriendly service which took ages, the fish was wet, but with batter burned to a cinder, the chips were stodgy. Perhaps it was because I'm not a local (they were all served before me, even though I came in before them), or perhaps it was just a bad day.

I pass through here now and again and this used to be a top notch Chinese but not any more. The last couple of times the chow mein has been bland and mushy. The curry sauce is scummy (a horrible white scum on the top). Won't be eating here again.

Set alongside the Menai La Marina on the prestigious Port Dinorwic Marina, La Marina specialises in tapas, seafood, and grilled meats.
Most of the dishes were 5*, but there were a couple we did not enjoy. Combined with the high prices, lowered my review to 4*.It was difficult to get a booking here, but we were able to make a reservation for 1 of the 3 nights we were in the area. On arrival we were not advised how many dishes to order (2-3 each apparently), so ordered 13 between 4 which was too much. Some of the dishes were absolutely amazing (I loved the chorizo appetiser and omg the salt & pepper chips were out of this world!!) but some of the dishes were disappointing. We weren't impressed with beef brisket or duck (especially as these are so expensive! at £8.50 each, nearly twice the price of the chorizo which I loved). Some dishes are a lot bigger than others too - the chips and paella were large for example, defo only needed 1 other dish to go with. Cocktails around £8.50 each.We paid £55 per couple with 1 alcoholic drink each and small tip, which seems very expensive to me, although we don't often eat out.

It doesn't look much on the outside but the fish and chips we had were amazing. Freshly cooked to order cod, fresh chips and a portion of mushy peas. I wanted a cup of tea..."just a minute while I put the kettle on".If the weather is good sit by the coast, if it's not so good see about eating in the little café area Well worth a visit if you're in north Wales.

I use this chippie regularly. Nothing is too much trouble. Wide variety of dishes. Lovely fresh salad also available. Highly recommended.
