the crabcakes were iffy and the log-shaped fish was not like Captain D's used to serve.The counter help were friendly and the place was reasonably clean but we had a very disappointing lunch. I don't know if it is Captain D's in general that has declined in quality or just this location.

Whitney's Too is not a fancy place. The building has been some restaurant or another since the early 60s. This iteration is a modest little fried seafood restaurant and while the building could use a little attention, the food was quite good.I had the combo bone-in catfish and fried oysters. There were 3 small catfish and about a dozen fried oysters. My guest had three rather large catfish filets. Both of us had cheese grits and cole slaw. The meals also included hushpuppies and they were fine. It was all served in styrofoam containers with plastic utensils. The fish was fried perfectly and the oysters were plump and not over cooked. The slaw was sweet and reminded me of KFC's, which I like. My guest said the cheese grits were the best she had ever had. I thought they were just pretty good cheese grits. We got out for under $20, and I would go back again.

When my husband and I are in the mood for a quiet, not-too-fancy, seafood meal - this is where we come. This little home-town restaurant is tucked away - but it is obvious that the locals treasure it. Every time we have eaten here, numerous take-out orders are picked up while we are eating. They have a good variety of seafood dinners, sandwiches and plates. I believe they had other choices (possibly chicken?) - but I'm not sure, as we were concentrating on the seafood. Very good grouper and shrimp! Just don't get dressed up - as this is a very casual setting. Excellent staff as well!
