We booked in advance what was billed as one of the best places in our area for our last night and had great expectations following a friendly/informed booking experience with the owner. unfortunately on arrival staff were relaxing in the back, the maitre d' was absent and it was all a little chaotic. we were seated eventually and managed to order and starters and kids food calm out over time and all was tasty. However 1.5 hours later still no main course and eventually after complaining and being reconfirmed still didn't arrive and we left without our mains. Unfortunate really as the place is nice and the food was tasty and we had big hopes.Hello Wavedavey,Thanks for your comments, it is disappointing to see you found the experience less than acceptable. We will look carefully at what happened but it would be better to know exactly what day/night this was.Again many thanks for taking the time to place a comment.

I like unique places. I've been to places that bring you a hot lava rock where you cook your own food, so this is not completely unique. However it was well presented, well delivered and good quality ingredients.it's not cheap but they have a nice variety and it's worth a stop.

Oscars is a little bit different to most restaurants in Seychelles. I would say that the fish is the best on the island and the setting/ambiance is perfect. Listen to the waves lapping on the beach while eating fresh fish (ask what is fresh in and go for that). The background music is perfect/not too loud so you can't talk, the decor is interesting and the staff are very friendly. Some of the dishes on the menu are quite unusual and well worth a try. Highly recommended.

Fantastic beachside restaurant. We got a table beneath the coconut trees just a few feet away from the waves. We had some delicious pizzas. We had two medium pizzas for 385 SCR, which was fair and acceptable.Dear ebershibinThank you for the nice words and review, we are glad you enjoyed the occasion with the great tasting pizzas in a great location by the sea.The Surfers Team.

Peaceful experience with v good service but the food, whilst ok, did not justify the additional expense - too much style over substance.

Le Reduit Restaurant

Small creole restaurant run by Seychellois family with an entirely creole straff. We are situated on the slope of a hill surrounded by lust-green vegation. The view looks down to the Takamaka beach. Our speciality are fresh fish and fuit bat. We welcome v

The Restaurant Le Reduit is a nice and original one situated in the middle of the forest surrounded by exhilarating vegetation. It’s therefore a restaurant located in a sort of a paradise. The day light coming in through the large windows when they are wide open makes the customers happy thus enjoying a bright and gay atmosphere. It's paradoxically cozy thanks to the scant decoration.I went there on the occasion of an excursion around the Island of Mahé, as a part of it. We ate some typical Créole food very well cooked and tasty. Everything was perfect until the music machine was switched on. From that moment onwards I felt like fleeing away. It was so,loud and the music so nasty that our repast was completely spoiled. The people sitting at the same table couldn’t even make themselves understood when talking to each other so I decided to keep silent for the rest of the lunch. The alternative would have been to yell all the time to go on holding a dialogue. It’s a pity since otherwise, without that noise pollution, that place would be quite confortable and good and thus a recommendable one.Dear periandro,Warm greeting from the Le Reduit team and a big thank you for reviewing us.We appreciate your comment.First, I would like to thank you for your just and fair comment about the food and the location of the restaurant.I will also agree with you about the music. (Second such comment about music in a space of 2 weeks,)But, let me assure you it is a matter of choices.1- Some clients want the music STOP altogether just to listen to the sound of nature.2- Some claimed it is too DULL with no ambiance.3- Some suggested the music is too LOURD.4- Some claimed the music is to SOFT5- Some have NO opinion at all.6- I'm LOST.What I believe also provoked your comment was that you were in a large group (Mason's) and it was difficult to satisfy all of you.Believe me most of the time we abide to the client reguest in that respect when asked and whenever it is possible. Please accept our apology.

We stayed at Kempinski for 7 days and ate here every day except for 2 days we spent out exploring the rest of the island. We tried many of their dishes and were never disappointed. There is excellent variety from local food to Indian to Arabic to western, they also have an extensive vegetarian/vegan menu. We especially enjoyed the local fish dishes, curries and of course their infamous black Angus burger! The amazing thing is how the restaurant transforms at night and you feel like you are eating at a completely different place. The waves crashing and the ocean area makes this an incredibly beautiful & relaxing spot. To be honest, prices are fair as when we ate at other local restaurants - outside of hotels - prices were extremely similar. Most food needs to be imported into Seychelles therefore justifying the prices. We must mention: Rajani (a lovely Indian lady who has been there a few months) she always had a wonderful warm smile and was extremely attentive to our needs. Vijay and Yvonne were also friendly and helpful.

Went with the family for a lovely dinner during the week. The staff there were friendly and attentive. The food was amazing.. We had the ceviche and octopus starters and wow.. What a start! The flavors were wonderful.. The local lime juice was perfect. We had the prawn and chicken jambalaya, prawn curry and the blackened fish steak.. What portions came! The taste of everything was amazing, présentation was lekka and the food was just in a league on its own... What a treat on this small island! The food is by far the best I've had in Seychelles and in SA.. Hats off and thanks again to the kind owners!

Lovely ambience to the whole place. Past colonialism meets future food excellence. We were met with a smile and helped to outdoor seating overlooking the growing sugar cane. The facility is not just a restaurant but also a Rum distillery. Obviously the pre-dinner cocktails had a rum theme. We had a beached Mojito and a rum Negario. Both tasted great. Food was a high quality. Prawns with seaweed and veal/tuna for starters. Both very good. The mains were even better. Kingfish wrapped in bacon. And duo fish. Oh my word. The taste of both was lovely. Great job by the chef and the staff. This is a MUST visit place for anyone visiting the Seychelles.
