The menu takes a few minutes to clue in to. 3 main dishes, two always there beef and chicken..both very good, plus a daily special. Lots of choices of starters and various types of tapas. Decent desert menu (small) but always tasty. Wine prices reasonable.Very friendly and well informed staff. All in all a very relaxed place to be..tables at the back near the toilets to be avoided....

We went here on the recommendation of an Amsterdam regular. At another table we saw the enormous cold seafood platter and it would be fun for a table of 6. We wanted cooked food, and not oysters, so we seemed out of synch with our waiter, pushing those things. A table of 5, we ordered appetizers and mains. The menu was honestly not very interesting and the food was just okay. A bit overcooked. But the service was very, very slow. I doubt we'd go back.

A real Japanese restaurant, with cozy atmosphere(but the empty barrels of beer at the entrance are not so nice).Plenty of choice,as a real izakaya should be,excellent quality of the ingredients, very fast service. What surprised me the most are the prices, quite low compared to the standards of similar restaurants in the Netherlands.Everything we tried(sushi,gyōza,fried squid rings, soups, meat) was excellent.I highly recommend the cubes of veal meat in teriyaki sauce(I attach a picture):I rarely had such good meat.

Large establishment, good looking interior, impressive aquarium. Medium sized parking. Toilet facilities are a little delapidated, deserve more attention. 6 page menu offering selection of maki, sashimi, yakitori, soup, noodles, beef and much more. All you can eat formula, the six of us spent 38 EUR a piece including several drinks per head. Good value. Recommended.

Located in Amstelveen residential area, this place has a very nice ambiance and enough seating space. Staff is good and engaging, food really nice and amount is quite sufficient for one person. Tried and recommended menu items, Sea bass (Lavraki), Lamb (Arnaki Kleftiko), Thessaloniki Schotel (steak) !

Had a reservation at 19:00 and realized 1 hour before that they tried to push the reservation to 21:00 without even asking. Bad first impression. The 6 course meal was wonderful, everything tasting perfect and catered to our interesting. The asparagus course was a hit for us. Kept us constantly yearning for more. Dessert was truly great with so many amazing textures and flavors. Prefect. My boyfriend accidentally dropped a glass of our wonderful sparking wine on the concrete flooring and was devastated.. I assured him that everything was fine but no one mentioned it or brought another glass for him. It wasn’t even cleaned up by the staff.. unacceptable. Our mood was instantly ruined. Seeing as it was his birthday I went to a nearby waiter to make them aware that it was his birthday and that he was feeling a bit down about the glass broken on the floor... they didn’t do anything special for his birthday either and charged us for the replacement glass of sparking wine... left a bad taste in both of our mouths.. Quite let down. I was expecting so much more after reading the raving reviews. What was supposed to be our fancy last fancy dinner in Amsterdam turned out to put a bummer on our last day. Regretful. The service just did not match the food.

All you can eat sushi/sashimi/teryaki etc restaurant
This is an all you can eat sushi and grill place and it was full of people. For 28 euros you can keep going, and at first I wondered why the order slips only had room for five rounds. I was soon enlightened, however. Our group of six went through 74 plates of stuff, including nigiri, soup, grilled beef, tempura, and other items. The teriyaki beef and tempura were both very good, as was the salmon nigiri. Our group was full after only three rounds (some items have more than one piece on the plate), although I managed two more little items, and it was a lot of wonderful cooking. There is grolsch beer on tap and this helps wash down the onslaught of sushi. Phew! We lurched back to the hotel, happy but moving slowly... We certainly recommend this establishment. Although there were many customers, the plates seemed to come out swiftly. Bon appetit!

We'd found Colijn's via Trip Advisor, and made a point of visiting whilst we were staying in Amstelveen... Oh my, am so glad we did - the staff, the food, the ambience - simply amazing. Loved the idea of being able to have a starter, main or dessert 'tasting menu' (see photo's)... It was unseasonable warm in April when we visited, and we sat outside - the waitressing telling us about the hidden button on the heated seat pads was a bonus. Highly RecommendHi,Thank you so much for this incredible review. We're so glad that you've found us on Trip Advisor and that you've had a lovely evening. We are also a big fan of our tasting menu's so you don't have to choose from all of the amazing dishes we serve. If you're in Amstelveen again, don't doubt to step by again! :-)

The restaurant is located in the old part of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel inside of a very old, majestic building. The menu is descent (good do with more taste) and they only serve 1 kind of sparkling water; some horrible dutch brand. Staff is friendly!! Great ambiance for larger groups; especially during summer time!
