Driving to Glasgow airport after staying with friends nearby. They advised a look at Melrose and we chose to have lunch here after reading Trip Advisor reviews. So clean and a great feel when you walk in. The staff were very friendly and the menu really interesting. Delicious lunch. We both had soup, one scallop entree and a local ham, cheese and chutney sandwich. Highly recommended.

Iâve never had a negative experience dinning at the Salmon! For purely selfish reasons the only thing i donât like is going out and up for the toilets! Great varied menu (although itâs tough to change from sticky chicken) huge portions, friendly staff and reasonably priced!
Stopping on a Sunday morning in Selkirk, we were happy to find anything open at all. The Courthouse Café was not only open but they were serving meals. We had coffee and a piece of cake and enjoyed it. The staff was pleasant and service was good. The café has a nice view of the town square and the Sir Walter Scott monument.

The place may look like it needs much done from the outside and to be honest the inside too but they work hard, are friendly and provide very acceptable food. They deserve some better facilities so they could command the customers they deserve.

We had been told about this place but not had the chance to visit until today. Do not judge by appearances. Inside is the most delicious home cooked food. Generous portions of delicious fresh food served by friendly smiling staff who worked SOOOO hard. I had the MOST scrumptious bagel with cream cheese and lots of smoked salmon, wonderful cauliflower soup enjoyed by my husband. It was very busy but the two ladies serving seemed so calm and so friendly as I guess were the two in the kitchen. Thank you sooo much. We will be back. I hope your boss knows how hard your work!!!!

Having last had dinner here in June '18, my partner and I were really looking forward to the above and it certainly didn't disappoint. The chef and waiting staff explained all of the dishes, each one was delicious and the skill involved - plus quality of ingredients - really shone through. The service was efficient and there was a lovely atmosphere so all-in-all, it was a return visit that lived up to all of our expectations.
