We are a small establishment with only 9 tables therefore booking essential for evening meals.
We were tired after a days cycling- and this place was just what we needed after a long and wet day. We were lucky as we went early evening- it can get booked up as there are very few places for food and drink in the area. The staff were friendly and the food came quickly. Also the dogs were welcome inside. We left happy.

Our Head Chef, Mike MacDonald, a native of the islands has expertly combined modern Scottish cuisine with the best ingredients these islands have to offer. Our team gather, forage, hunt and dive on North Uistâs hills, lochs, sea and shores
Friendly, welcoming and efficient staff.Very cosy bar area and a beautiful dining room. The food was excellent and portions generous. Menu largely based around local produce but very disappointing to see foie gras in several dishes.

Dining at Hamersay House is âbrasserie styleâ with a menu that emphasises our capability to source the very freshest ingredients locally.
My wife and I visited Hamersay House recently for dinner and were very pleased with the whole experience. We received a warm welcome from the staff, who were courteous, helpful and friendly all evening, throughout our stay!My wife chose to have two starters - an Orkney Ale pancake with mushrooms, followed by scallops as a main course. I had the seafood chowder as a starter followed by Catalonian Hake with linguine - and it was all delicious! The food was well prepared, well served and very attractively presented and we thoroughly enjoyed it all.We were too full for desserts but I had a very good cappuccino to finish off my meal.It was all very tasty and right on the average cost for food at hotels in the Western Isles, well served and most enjoyable. We will certainly be back again on our next visit to North Uist.
