A trip to the Isle of Mull isn’t complete without a visit to the Tobermory Distillery, one of the oldest distillers in the country, and a snort of their single malt Scotch. Mishdish Restaurant and Oyster Bar, situated on the beautiful Scottish seaside town of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Serving the finest of locally sourced fish and shellfish that the island has to offer.
This place doesnât major on good service, or fine dining but somehow it works to be a really likeable experience. It remains stubbornly a pub that provides a completely unpretentious environment that a Glasgow west end bar would die for. Nothing was really bad but the beers, whisky and craic made up for everything.

Had a meal here having sailed from Dunstaffnage to Tobermory. The restaurant is very traditional with a marine theme. The menu has a large selection of seafood on it, presumably locally sourced. Ours meals were very good and the service was efficient given it was a very busy Saturday night.

visited here recently, sat outside on the pier, which was really nice. both chose a special of squat lobster in chilli and garlic with crusty bread. around 9 pounds. was absolutely delicious. no complaints other than the staff, while friendly, could be more welcoming

The Galleon Grill is a firm favourite in Tobermory. It specialises in Steaks, ribs and seafood all cooked on an open grill. It is only 10 yards from the harbour front.
This seems to be a very busy place and our first experience of the food showed why. The steaks are quality, taste great, are cooked beautifully and not over seasoned. Service was good and staff friendly. Our first visit here was so memorable that we immediately booked for the following day, our anniversary, so we were really looking forward to the experience. You know the saying that you should never return to a great restaurant...well we should have taken note. The food wasn't bad but it just wasn't as good. The meat this time was heavily seasoned, still well cooked but not as tasty. The onion rings were not the hot and crispy type we'd enjoyed the night before and service seemed a bit laboured, even though the venue was quieter.Ho hum....still think this is a great place to eat, but have to be honest...and yes we did bring these points to our server who was apologetic, but it is what it is.

Open seasonally, mid March till the end of October every year - this small inauspicious fish restaurant is fast gaining nationwide recognition as one of the best and most exciting places to eat in Scotland. With a superb location & stunning sea views on t
It''s always nice to eat outside, and here there is the opportunity eating local fish cooked really well inside or out. On the day I went there I had a mackerel dish off the specials board, 2 nice sized mackerel with baby potatoes and veg. very busy in Mid sept so can imagine its hammered in high season...

This cafe is situated at the end of a 4 mile dead end road leading from Tobermory to Glengorm Castle. It is an ideal spot for food and drink either before or after one of the lovely walks that lead away from the location. Good quality coffee and lovely cakes, and by the look of it the rest of the food appeared to be of a good standard. The cafe also sells other food such as cheeses etc to take away.

A group of us (10 in total) visited on a Wednesday evening. We had pre-booked and arrived in good spirits! The menu was, as expected, quite limited but offered so much in just a few dishes. In the main we ordered a home made haggis starter and it was absolutely delicious. Then onto the main courses. The choice for most of us was lobster thermidor. It was a bit of a no brainer for most of us as we were celebrating a week away and some excellent weather. However when it was served 6 of 8 orders were served in the lobster half shell but two of us had it served in scallop shells. When we queried this we were told they had run out of lobster shells. That was the puzzle for us and two people who had been served in the lobster shells got very small portions with a limited amount of lobster in them. I had been served in a scallop shell and had a serving of the size I was expecting. By applying a bit of logic and the odd assumption it looked as if they didn't have enough lobster to go round and rather than admitting this they stretched what they had to two too many portions. After all if you have the lobsters to serve why would you not have enough lobster bodies to put the meat in unless the two are purchased separately and i don't believe this is that sort of establishment. To add a touch of insult to injury the only other thing on the plates was 3 or 4 large pieces of cos or similar lettuce. No dressing, no other garnish - just several lettuce leaves. Whilst some of us loved our food and the overall experience we had a couple in our group that would never revisit or recommend this restaurant. What went wrtong?

Food is extremely tasty! I recommend the duck! It's not the cheapest of places but the food is worth it. There isn't much of you're wanting a lighter dish or a cheaper lunch except for a burger or fish and chips for around £12. Nothing to order for our 16 month old as children's menu is £6 per dish with large portions which is not worth it for the amount she eats and as said there aren't lighter dishes to order. This wasn't too problematic as the staff were happy for us to give our daughter a packed lunch that we had in the car. All in all, food was gorgeous and we would return again for a treat!

We recently had dinner at the Ninth Wave, with great expectations and we were not disappointed. We tried the 4 course meal plus the cheeseboard. Lobster, crab, halibut..everything was perfect, combining freshness and creativity in every course. I've found the dessert based on coffee a bit too sweet, but I admit I'm not a big fan of sugar. The cheeseboard was also very good, a perfect conclusion for a great meal. Service is friendly in a nice atmosphere.

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, I booked this lovely restaurant in advance. I was not disappointed. Food was amazing. The fish cooked to perfection. My husbands claw and turf was stupendous. We even had 3 courses. I never eat dessert but it would have been rude not too after a faultless starter and main. Cannot recommend enough if visiting the area.Service was great too.
