Visited here after trip to nearby Foxlake. Very friendly staff. Got to be some of the best and most reasonably priced fish and chips I’ve ever eaten. £8.50 for a fish the size of a small whale, loads of chips, mushy peas, bread butter and tea or coffee. My 14 year old eats like a horse but struggled to finish a kids fish and chips. Overall a very nice place to eat.

Sit in or takeaway, they offer a simple menu that includes regular favorites such as bacon butties, vegetarian breakfast, soups or my staple favourite when in town, a bacon, brie & cranberry baguette. A taster selection of Dunbar smokery produce also features on the menu. I mainly get takeout & head for the harbour to enjoy my lunch.

Beautiful Golf Course, Bar and Restaurant on the Sunny, East Coast of Scotland. If you can't manage a round of golf then why not pop in and relax and have a lite bite by the sea and let the stress fade away.

A well maintained links golf course with lovely views overlooking the Firth of Forth with Bass Rock as a backdrop. Budget priced, friendly staff. A bit too busy for us having to wait to play most shots. Clubhouse was very tired and requires upgrading. Arrived expecting to have some lunch but found the menu very lacking and ended up with bacon rolls. We are sorry that you thought the club house was tired during your recent visit as well as the limited menu but the reason the menu was limited while you visited was due to us trying our best to upgrade the premises, as the day you visited we were in the process of upgrading the ladies toilets, which have now had a complete rehall. Due to this We felt we couldn’t serve our usual lunch or dinner menu on that day due to the workmen being in and making considerable noise. We had posted to let our customers know of the situation. We have worked very hard over the last two years to update the club house and are trying to restore it back to its former glory but I am sure you will understand with the age of the building this is taking a great deal of time and money. Easy place to stop off on the A1. Plenty of parking available and a play area outside if visiting with children. Food is overall very good. Starter of celeriac and apple soup was lovely. Regular beef burger was great but the beetroot and think it was halloumi cheese wasn't nice. No particular taste to it apart from a used oil aftertaste. The potato wedges etc that came with it were tasty though. Lovely piece of cake to take away. The shop area has so many interesting things in it that I could have bought everything. Been several times now and no doubt will be back again.Hi Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. We are delighted that you choose to use us and that you enjoyed your visit. I will pass on your feedback regarding the beetroot burger as it has now become a firm favourite with everyone so we need to ensure we get it right every time.Regards Trish Leckie owner

Came here after long walk around the coast, harbour and battery. Was really hungry so although all the specials had gone (Sunday afternoon, should have got there earlier! ) I opted for the bacon and cheeseburger. Very tasty homemade, coukd have done with more chips but hey thats just because I'm greedy! Friendly bar staff, brought my food outside, and I enjoyed the fresh air. Met some friendly locals, I will return !!

Looking for somewhere to stop off after a day trip south of the border, this was the place that ticked all the pre-planning boxes and what a nice place it was. Seated very promptly when we arrived and a drinks order taken (nice touch water automatically placed on the table without having to ask) and menu's handed out. There is a nice range of food to choose from and reasonable prices too.I went for the mac and cheese and it was worth the 10 minute wait as it was really delicious! The chunky chips (more like huge tattie wedges) were an excellent accompaniment too! OH gave the thumbs up to his fish and chips too. We were both stuffed so didn't have a dessert. For those not native to Dunbar, the postcode for the hotel isn't correct - it takes you to the street behind the hotel, I had to change from using the Sat Nav to Google Maps to actually find the place, so beware!Dear Ne_quineThank you so much for taking the time to review your dinning experience with us. We were absolutely delighted to read your comments and feedback and will ensure that everyone involved shares in your kind comments.I will also share with Paul and his brigade in the kitchen your brilliant comments about the Mac Cheese and Fish Chips - the portions are to set you up and maybe next time we can tempt you to a pud!I do hope we can welcome you back soonKind regardsPhilip

This is a small unprepossessing restaurant attached to the Castle pub. The menu is traditional offering a good selection of favourites such as scampi, burgers, fish, chicken, steak. Service is friendly and efficient and the good is absolutely delicious! The best fish and chips we’ve had for a long time. Excellent beer too. Great value - definitely going back. Thank you for a great meal.

This is our first visit to rocks under the new owner, the new revamped decor is light and fresh, met by a pleasant young man who showed us to our table and gave us the menu what a wonderful selection and very difficult to make our minds up,order taken by the new owner who I have to say has his finger on the pulse, we had to wait on our starter but to be fair the restaurant was very busy, pigeon breast on a bed of creamy risotto was beautiful and my partner had fish cake in a creamy sauce well worth the wait. To follow chicken breast which was cooked to perfection and pig on a plate 4 different cuts of pork the best he has tasted in a long time no room for desert and we will definitely be back, thank you to the staff for an excellent evening

The waiter was incredibly helpful and welcoming and we enjoyed our evening overall. We had spent a day at the Scottish open and were looking forward to a special meal to finish off our day. We loved the complementary snifters before courses- a spicy Bloody Mary, rhubarb smoothie and a noggin of Sangria. The menu had lots to choose from, both seafood and terrestrials. I started with delicious mussels and a nice touch was the finger bowl was proper hot when the food arrived, so it was just perfect to wash my hands in when I was finished. Mussels plump, fresh and in a delicious winey- creamy sauce, which managed to be rich and fresh at the same time! He had a tasty chicken salad with crispy coating and tasty dressing. We both opted for fish and chips for main but in different ways- he the fried variety which was crisp and served with mushy peas. More vinegar please though! I ordered the coley which was on a bed of mixed fried potatoes and salad. Not the best combination, potatoes not crisp and salad becoming a wee bit soggy in the mix. Skin on the fish wasn't scaled so couldn't eat it . Distinctly average I am afraid. The dining room a little smokey from the cooking. All in all pleasant but not exceptional and, I am afraid, Edinburgh prices.
