this restaurant is not fine dining, but it is excellent pub grub, The staff are friendly & attentive. It does not have a license but there is a pub next door where you can get drinks & bring them into the restaurant. You may also bring your own for which there is no corkage & they will supply glasses. An excellent place for a casual meal.

Gather has been in Carnoustie for a few years and recently transferred to larger premises and this has allowed them to include a cafe facility. I visited to buy fresh local produce and extended my stay to include an excellent cup of coffee and piece of de
My boyfriend and I came in for lunch and we both had the Croque Monsieur. It was SO good! The service was outstanding. The staff were all very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Loved the salad we got with the Croques too. So different to anything we'd had before. Such a breath of fresh air when you're used to going to the same kinds of cafes. The shop looked great too. Loads of amazing looking cheeses and gins etc. Will definitely be back.

Carnoustie is now a destination for incredible food as well as world famous golf. With stunning views across the course to the sea, The Rookery restaurant showcases the best produce Scotland has to offer. Family friendly and open to everyone, serving lunc
I ate fish and chips here one day and pasta primavera another day. Both were fine - well-cooked and tasty. The view from this place is over the sweeping links so itâs very pleasant andinteresting to sit and look out. Service was good and competent. My main comment for this place is to try to improve on its cold feeling. Modern furniture, and minimal design works when balanced by something cosy. This restaurant lacks the cosy element. The lighting is way too bright, making the place feel too clinical. Turn it down! More soft furnishings are required. Something needs to change to make the restaurant feel less like a modern cafe. I would return here for lunch but for dinner, there are more personal places in the village.

Local Bistro Just Opened Very Nice, Great Food, Reasonably Priced, And Very Nice Family Run Business, Well Worth A Visit, Small Nice Setting And The Sweets Are Amazing, As Is The Food
We were lucky to win one of Janet's amazing cheesecakes, White Chocolate and Raspberry, which we had today as part of a family dinner. It was a triumph, to say the least. Portions went home with guests to be enjoyed tomorrow. Thank you so much. See you soon. Highly recommend this establishment.

This place is obviously somewhere loved by the locals. And itâs easy to see why, itâs warm , friendly, with lovely food, and excellent service. AND it welcomes dogs. As we are touring Scotland with our dog, to us thatâs the difference between feeling welcome, or rejected. We had soup and sandwich, the spiced cauliflower soup had a great flavour. Nice well filled sandwich, followed by one of the best scones Iâve ever eaten. There was a friendly buzz of people coming and going, who were obviously regular users. Thanks for your lovely review. Great to see you. So glad you enjoyed your visit with us. Enjoy the rest of your tour.

We booked a table for four and we were seated by the window in the main dining room which was very nice and clean . Linen tablecloths and good service added to the pleasant dining. The food choice was good and the Belhaven beer was excellent. The Salmon dish was well prepared. tasted delicious and the portions were large. As always the steak pie was stupendous. We will definitely return again when visiting Carnoustie.

Stayed here during the British Girls Open Golf Championship at Panmure. The hotel was not fancy but was very clean and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Staff took an interest in how the girls staying there were doing in competition and offered packed lunches and late dinners if needed. The food was good and the bar had a busy, friendly atmosphere. It was close to the golf club and offered drying facilities which thankfully we didn't need. A perfect base for golfers.

Nice surroundings with beautiful views over the Tay. Staff were welcoming and attentive. We had the 5 course tasting menu and the first 2 courses were excellent.Beautifully presented and full of flavour. Thereafter the standard deteriorated with wish course being rather tasteless and minute in size. The pork main was for us over cooked and again on the small size. Sweet was OK. On the whole disappointing for the standard of food we were expecting, and certainly not value for money. We would not return
