In need of a warming lunch on a chilly August Sunday,we stopped at the Sutherland Inn although a couple of years ago we'd been rather disappointed. But what a change! Without losing its unpretentious appeal the place had been spruced up, the service was prompt and friendly, the real ale option was local and served at the right temperature and the day's 'specials' were attractively presented and imaginative. We both had spring rolls stuffed with haggis and venison hot dogs. Both came with salad (slaw with the venison) which was fresh and easy on the eye. Portions were so generous that I can't comment on the puddings, but the espressos were excellent. The prices seemed very reasonable and we were glad we'd chosen to stop there.

Not the friendliest place to call in, unfortunatley this is the first bad point. Food is ok, reasonably priced, quick, not much on the baking side and staff seem to leave and go outside (smokers) for short periods alternatively and this is through the front door making it obvious.
Newly refurbished family run licensed restaurant/café and takeaway serving a variety of food - fish and chips, pizzas, doner kebab, teas, coffees, home baking etc. Sits on the a9 on the North Cost 500 route opposite the memorial clock. Family and biker fr
We visited the Bearâs Den for a takeaway while camping at the nearby campsite. Didnât get the staff members name (lives in Dingwall!) but she was super friendly and spoke to us while we waited for our food. Really tasty pakora and steaming hot pizza. Just what we needed!

We stopped here for lunch after doing the Big Burn walk (also highly recommended !). Excellent selection of food - I would have liked to have tried all the deserts and cakes but after a super goat cheese and red pepper toastie with salad and crisps, there was only room for one - a fabulous Turkish delight cheesecake. Itâs a very friendly place and is highly recommended for a tasty lunch or snack.

Arrived to find restaurant fairly full, so had a table outside, thought it must be good as it was busy. How wrong can you be !! We ordered Chicken & Chips & Whole tail scampi & chips with mushy peas. Could'nt believe the chips when the meals arrived. Not a single whole chip that you could eat. I went through to complain about the state of them, they looked like the scrapings from the bottom of the fryer. The waitress said she would get us another bowl of chips. They arrived and were no better, just scraps. The meals were dear enough if they had been good, so we complained when we went to pay. The bill was over £30 , for the 2 meals & 2 x orange & lemonade drinks & charged for the extra bowl of chips !! We eventually paid just over £20, which was still far too much. We noticed other diners had the same rubbish chips. Will never be back there again
