This little self-service restaurant is a great value, and a bit off the main street, so that it's not filled with tourists. A bonus: The #8 bus to Santa Claus Village is on the same block.
Cafe Toivo has been around for a few years and I used to visit it sometimes when I was in Rovaniemi. I used to like it a lot even then. However, the new owners, Mika and Aarne, who took over the place just recently have changed the culinary experience to something not seen previously around these hoods. We visited the place during our holiday trip to Lapland and were amazed by the quality of the food. In our table we had all three different lunch options of the day, and everyone was more than satisfied. And all this comes with a price of a regular lunch! This place is worth even for some travel on its own!

The Restaurant Royal reindeer provides unique Lapland 360 venue for delicious dining such as lunch and dinner at the arctic circle. Experience the edge of light and mystique genuine Lappish atmosphere at the most unique 8 corner artifact. All delicate rea
We went there for dinner and both took the set menu- 1x vegetarian version, 1x the normal one.The price for the menu was 65 Euro/person, which is pricy, but justified. We got four courses alltogether. The predish was a mushroom soup/ crab soup, then a big plate with mixted small things, which was really exzellent. Everything was so tasty and great. The main dish was reindeer/ cabbage rolls with truffle potatos.Afterwards we got a plate with some chocolate cakes, macarons, cheese and fruits on it.The atmosphere is like a modern wooden cottage and very cosy. The service was very friendly. It was a very nice evening and we really enjoyed it.Absolutely great!!!!
Dinner visit for us at 6:30pm. Restaurant very quiet we were the only couple inside and there must have been about six outside. Get a menu from the bar, order and pay there. We both had the reindeer stew with mash and a drink. Choice of bread and some salad was included in the price. Pretty quick getting the order out food pretty average to be honest I definitely couldn't get excited about it.Good if your on a budget and don't want anything fancy. Pretty average overall. The one member of staff we interacted with was friendly and efficient.

We ate here three times during a week-long stay in Rovaniemi. We tried the salmon soup, mushroom soup, salmon with potatoes and pork with potatoes. All were delicious, but the dessert was amazing. We had the chocolate fondant with fresh berries each time we dined there. You have to try it.

After spending the morning in the museum one needs to eat something. This restaurant offers the possibility quite conveniently being in the same building. The lunch is offered either as a soup lunch including a salad buffet, bread, and a soup, or a full lunch with a main course on top of that. We took the full version, but actually the soup lunch would've been plenty already. The food was good for the price, so I can recommend this place.

perfect for the whole family. Kids run around the buffet happily, especially for breakfast, where they can make their own waffles. Staff very friendly and efficient. Recommended.

We had our sons 6th birthday dinner here. Here was a decently priced children menu with lot of options. Our choise for ourselves was local fish which was delicous albeit portion was quite small. And we had specially pre-ordered birthday cake plus complimentary song from Italian group!
