We went here with a group of 10 early on a Friday evening. Rather unusually for Russia, all the diners are served at the same time. I thought the food and service was quite good and the ambience attractive. Not sure about the cost, as a colleague picked up the tab. Had two people singing pop songs live, some in Russian some in English. Not too loud!

Really enjoyed a visit to Beerhouse in Kazan for a hearty lunch of German and Tartar cuisine.Mercifully air conditioned with a lovely interior with charming wooden booths. Huge menu with lots of meaty German dishes but also a plethora of Tartar dishes.Free WiFi and the beer is excellent as you'd expect from an establishment with this name!Excellent fast service from ladies in traditional dress with little red buttons by the table to press for service! Just a few yards off Baumann, well worth a visit. Greetings to you from all our friendly team and best wishes!Thank you for loving and recommending us!We invite you to try the novelties of our summer menu, Chef will try to surprise and please with his culinary masterpieces.Your BEERHOUSE!

This is a Kazan institution, the colourful Dom Chaya, a Tatar tea house where we had pies and salad and really enjoyed the Gubaida pie for dessert, containing cooked rice, nuts and raisins. We chose the waitress service part rather than the self-service, but it was still incredibly good value.

We visited Chak-Chak twice for lunch whilst staying in Kazan. It is a clean and cheery cafeteria operation. One grabs a tray, and makes ones way along the counters, selecting items as one goes. There are some english translations on the labels. The food is best described as 'comfort home cooking'. It is not fancy or presented with any flair. Your hot meal wil be heated in the microwave. But the serves are generous and the taste is satisfying. We enjoyed the soups (cream of mushroom and a sour beef soup), and one of the hot dishes on offer, labelled 'Chicken curry', tasted remarkably like Indonesian opar ayam! The sweets also are good, if you can stuff anthing else in after main meal. The price for all this food is vary reasonable.

In town for the Brazil quarter final WorldCup match, my friends ,(who also flew to town for the game) picked this restaurant as the best option in town to eat Tatar food.Although we walked in without reservations, we managed to get a table after some nice begging. The ambiance is great, nicely decorated et all.The food is good, not excellent, just good enough. As starters we shared hummus (definitely had better elsewhere) and salad. For main, I got a grilled seabass which was good but the meal did not feel Tatar at all as nothing we had was different from the usual Mediterranean type of food. Maybe we did not order the right stuff. They were busy and the service was very slow. But when we complained about the delay, they were very apologetic and gave us complimentary vodka shots - which was very nice.Staff's English was limited so they were not able to explain questions on the menu. Still a very nice evening out in Kazan.

As a tourist without Russian spoken, It is not really easy to find a rest with local food. When walking along the famous walking street, I found lots of people went to this Rest. Then I decided to follow them. It was just like buffet, quite easy for me to see what I wanted to try. Lots of choices, meatballs meat cake salads soups kinds of local food (I do not the name). Finally I got salad x 1, meat cake X1, panned potatoes X1, local food (ban?) X1, yogurt x1, cheesecake x1, hot lemon tea X1, you can't believe how much I had paid for them, only 138rub! Less than 2 euro! And the food was somehow delicious. For sure, the surrounding was a bit crowded and noisy, and long queue when eating time. But you can't ask more with such cheap price and reasonable quality local food. I do recommend it!

The manager Anastasia is exceptional and they are very lucky to have such an amazing manager who did everything to ensure we had the best experience in the restaurant. As Australians who couldn't speak any Russian, she guided us through the menu and recommended Russian specialities that were delicious and we never would have chosen without her guidance. She helped celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary with a gift from the hotel and wonderful desserts. She makes the restaurant 5 stars with her welcoming, professional, warm attitude and knowledge. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Kazan.Dear our Australian family! We are very grateful for this wonderful review! We realize you have many options for lodging when you travel and we appreciate that you have chosen DoubleTree by Hilton Kazan. Also we are very proud of our team, your feedback is priceless.
