We were shooting several commercials on Main Street in Yazoo City and someone recommended Tom's. In fact, I met Tom outside the restaurant while we were setting up the camera. Nice guy. He recommended the chicken nuggets. The restaurant is very cool inside with lots of wall hangings and artwork. Our waitress was one of the friendliest I've had and served our lunch specials up fast. The brisket was decent (I've had better). The butter beans were way too salty. My tiny house salad with comeback dressing was fine. The cornbread was fantastic as was the banana pudding. All for $7.95. Wish I had tried the chicken nuggets now. There are a lot of great things on the menu I'd love to try next time I'm there, especially the cheeseburger. Overall,Tom's is a great lunch experience. Some items are better than others.

Tamales were tender and seasoned well. Can't get these back home! Brisket sammich was tender and smoky. Small sandwich was a good size - how big is the Large?! Catfish had a great batter and was fried crisp. Cole sla is an acquired taste with vinegar. If you like spice, order the green beans for a pleasant surprise. Only down side was that they did not have Ubons BBC sauce in stock or we would have taken a bottle home with us! Would definitely eat here again priced right. Fun for kids of all ages: they encourage you to write on the walls!

Leaving Memphis on our US road trip we headed to Natchez, Mississippi, but as it was a 5 hour drive we decided to take our time and stop for lunch. I'd had a look at the map in advance and thought Jackson was too large a city for a brief lunch stop and found somewhere called Yazoo City; there were some restaurant reviews on TripAdvisor that looked decent. I had picked out Stubs, a sort of diner on the edge of town. I had a shrimp po'boy which reminded me a bit of a fish finger sandwich! My fiancé had mozzarella sticks and a grilled cheese sandwich and his mum had fried green tomatoes and fried okra, which she said was very good - the portions were huge and the prices really reasonable - we paid $50 including a 20% tip.
Even though the portions were large the desserts looked so good we decided to indulge; I had a Boston cream pie, my fiancé had a chocolate pie and his mum had lemon meringue pie. Stubs does good pie! The service was friendly and it seemed like a good local neighbourhood, family kind of place that was just as welcoming to travellers passing through.

I am from St Louis and we do ribs differently in St Louis. But thee ribs in this place are even better than we do in St Louis. These are no baby back ribs. These are the extra meaty, fall off the bone ribs. I was concerned when they only offer a 1/2 slab dinner....but it is all you need, some of you all might even do with the 1/4 slab dinner but I like leftovers. When I left town I grab some for the road. Next rip...Catfish I hear they do it right.

Ok- so you drive up and think this place looks like a shack, until you walk inside and you realize , "it really is a shack!" But folks looks can deceive you. The food is great - true Southern Fried Feasting! Shrimp, oysters, fried pickles, and of course Mud Bugs when they are in season. For burger lovers you'll not be disappointed either. Sweet tea is on the nearby tables to help yourself. I've taken numerous clients and associates here for lunch. Yes their eyebrows rise as we pull into he parking lot but they always leave full and happy.

We go here now and then for the local basic food of sandwiches, which are okay. The fries are always limp and greasy. We just recently tried the BBQ, having been disappointed with Mississippi BBQ from the Pig Shack and Ubon's, both of places are overrated. Clancy's make great tasting BBQ. We've had it twice within a week and couldn't be happier. Looking for decent Mississippi BBQ? Go no farther than Clancy's. We will from now on.

Miss Glenda is in charge and cooked one of the best steaks that I have ever tasted. There is a great variety to choose from and each dish was cooked to perfection and the price was just right. If you are in Yazoo City pay Cafe 7 a visit as you won't regret it.

While traveling thru Yazoo City we stopped mid-Sunday afternoon for a break. Hector was an absolute delight and made very good suggestions from the menu. Food was hot, well seasoned and portions were more than adequate. We would definitely go back here again.

short order breakfast and sandwiches. Place is small so if you go on the weekend you might have to wait but it is well worth it !! Yazoo is thrilled that Woodee's came to town and filled our breakfast need !! Lunch and sandwiches are also delicious as well as the burgers !!!

Going against remarks from friends and neighbors, we decided to give this place another snot. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!! Should have trusted first instinct. Food is not that great and it is very expensive. Not to mention that it is very small inside. When it is crowded, such as the night we were in, you feel like a sardine in a can. There is no privacy and no room to maneuver around. The waitress we had acted as if she was doing us a favor. Hence, no tip for her, except that we did tell her to change her attitude.
Needless to say, we won't be going back and we can't recommend it to others either. Sadly, there are no good restaurants in Yazoo City.
