Chef John, Chef Nick and Deidra created a perfect Valentine's Day evening under "extreme" circumstances. The restaurant was without electricity from 8 AM-3:30 PM. They were just on the verge of calling everyone and cancelling dinner when the power came back on. THANK GOODNESS! They are true professionals and if they hadn't told us of the snafu, we would never have known. Each course was presented with precision and was delicious. Take away containers for any leftovers are provided. Menu changes monthly. Cost is $94.50 per person plus tax and tip. Wonderful special evening! Highly recommend! They book several months in advance....so if you want to go, you need a reservation and right now they are full until summer.

This high-energy bistro took over as Williamsburg's best restaurant as soon as it opened in 2003. The sophisticated but relaxed dining room has an open kitchen, which uses fresh, local ingredients for its creative American fare. The dining bar and seasonal outdoor patio seating are on a first come basis. Reservations for the dining room are recommended and may be made up to 2 months in advance. Open daily for dinner, a hostess is available during the day to take reservations.
My husband and I dined at Fat Canary a couple weeks ago for the second time in years. We are Williamsburg residents. The food is exceptional and I don’t know that any other restaurant in Williamsburg compares. I had salmon and my husband had scallops. We both had generous amounts of food. The service was also outstanding. The only reason I’m giving Fat Canary 4 Stars is that they have not seemed to get rid of the problem of noise. We were seated very close to some people doing business and we could hardly hear each other talk. The tables are still way too close to each other, although the restaurant has put in better carpeting that seems to absorb some of the noise.

Le Yaca began in a tiny, country village(Courchevel)in the French Alps in 1964.Daniele Bourderau & Gerard decided that it would be fun to open a small restaurant. When friends learned of their plans they told the hopeful restaurateurs that they were crazy to think that people would drive 8 kilometers on a winding, icy road for dinner.Daniele and Gerard hesitated for 3 months and then decided: “yaca le faire,” a contraction of the French phrase “ il n’y a qu’a le faire” which basically means “let’s do it.” They called the restaurant Le Yaca as a gag. But the name caught on with customers, who were amused by the pun and contributed to the restaurant’s lore by inventing “yaca-isms ” of their own: yaca y aller (let’s go). Daniele came to the United States & opened Le Yaca in Williamsburg.Daniel Abid bought le Yaca in 2001. Daniel worked and trained in such prestigious places as “Le Pre Catelan” and “Lenotre” in Paris; “L’Amandier” and “Roger Verge" and to top it all off “Alain Ducasse.”
We came here for our anniversary and we’re not disappointed! We ordered the chefs menu with wine pairings and it was absolutely superb. Everything was prepared very well and the service was very attentive, but not overbearing. We capped off the evening with a Grand Marnier soufflé, which is really hard to find in many restaurants. It was the best! We will be returning soon.

This was our first trip to Duck Donuts. First of all, I am THRILLED that there is not one anywhere near home. Why? Because I’d likely go A LOT. They are ridiculously good, my favorite (and I consider myself an expert at this moment- I intended to eat 2, I ate SIX- it was simply criminal to leave ANY behind)...anyway as I started to say, my favorite was “blueberry pancake”. The truth is that all of them were stupid. Stupid good.
Worth the stop- go out of your way. And only order what you actually want to confine yourself to. We got a dozen, four of us. Momma ate 1. Two teens, 2/ea. No leftovers. Hmm.

My wife and I came here with friends for dinner, a birthday dinner for two of us. From start to finish we were treated like royalty! Our superior server Eric was always there when we needed him. The food was absolutely great as all four of us were raving about our meals. I had the Rockfish--superb! For our birthdays we were treated to a special dessert. There aren't enough superlatives to describe this fine dining establishment!

This is a great family-run operation friendly to Williamsburg locals as well as visitors. Warm, welcoming environment and fantastic Italian traditional meals as well as house specials and nightly entree. They do an exceptional job with fish...tuna, swordfish, salmon. Whatever is available and not everything comes with pasta. Reasonably priced and a very good wine list, too.

Food For Thought is a family restaurant in Williamsburg, Virginia, that’s as engaging for the mind as it is for the senses. Surrounded by quotes and images of inventors, scientists, and social leaders, our atmosphere aims to inspire families and encourage discussion over wholesome, delicious food. Food For Thought’s menu is as diverse as the great thinkers themselves. Our diner’s choices vary from American classics, ethnic dishes, healthy vegetarian options, or one of our nightly seafood specialties. The foundation of our menu is built upon American staples like our famous Fork Tender Pot Roast, Grandma’s Meatloaf, and “fall off the bones” ribs. America grew up on these meals, and we love paying homage to our country’s past. To complement these favorites, we added some newer, more contemporary flavors and ideas like Pad Thai, Jamaican jerk chicken, flavored butters, and original vegetarian dishes. To ensure everyone finds something they love, we also provide a gluten-free menu, a kid’s menu (with healthy options!) and our “Magic 55” senior’s menu. Our food is prepared with love and served with pride. A truly wonderful meal is a combination of good food and good conversation -- so talk about the special people featured here. Talk about the contributions that these people have made to the world! Have a meaningful conversation about how everyone can be great in his or her own way.
Once a year we come up here for a weekend and have to eat here at least 2 times. Amazing food from southern comfort foods to seafood to vegan and vegetarian options. I had a crab grilled cheese for lunch and a Benedict for breakfast...MoreThanks for making us a part of your annual visit to Williamsburg! We really appreciate this review. Already looking forward to next year! Sincerely, Howard, Owner

Super gooey, delicious cheese steak! The meat, cheese, onions, mushrooms and bun were perfection. Sadly couldn't finish it all with the huge portion of onion rings. This was the first time in the area. We walked past the more populated area of cafes and restaurants. Rick's isn't flashy, but they know how to cook. And the service was truly remarkable.

Everytime my husband and I visit Williamsburg we make sure to go to Corey's country kitchen at least once. The food is beyond delicious!!! We always get fried chicken, fried fish, greens, macaroni and cheese, yams, cornbread and kool aid. The service is friendly, especially Terry, she is the BEST! Food is fresh, made to order and worth every single penny! It's also very clean. This place is worth the 6 hour drive we take to make it here. If you're in Williamsburg, you MUST stop by. If we lived in the area, I'd never cook again!

Second Street is a Casual Upscale Restaurant marked by a menu full of unique and delicious culinary twists, stunning decor throughout, a comfortable atmosphere, and a fresh upscale vibe unmatched in Williamsburg." Our large menu features local seafood, chicken and steak entrees, handmade burgers, unique Italian dishes, overstuffed sandwiches, kid friendly foods, munchies, fresh soups and salads, extensive wine list, and a relaxed separate bar area for socializing.
We thoroughly enjoyed a recent lunch here while on vacation. Highly recommended are the southern cordon blue wrap, Rueben sandwich and Thai peanut salad with grilled salmon. Our waitress, Robin was attentive and very friendly. We were impressed with the quality of the food and generous portions. We plan to come back and have a drink at the bar.
