We love to head out of town and fine some place that is unusual in a small town and headed back up at Pirates Isand in Collinsville, Texas. Some people would refer to these type restaurants as a definite "hole in the wall". Upon entering the restaurant you will find a video rental store complete with DVDs for rent plus there are three tabels for restaurant seating. Then just beyond this area is a larger dining room that will seat about 50 people, thus this is a small place. The walls are decorated with photos of old cars as this restaurant is the sponcer of an old car event annualy in Collinsville. We looked at the special for the day and that was a hamburger or cheeseburger with fries or chips plus a drink of your choice including an ice cream float , all for $6.49. This was a great deal. They have only one rest room however it was very clean.Great chance to see where the locals eat as the place was full when we entered and full when we left. Parking is on the street out front. The hamburger were thick and cooked juts right. The bun was loaded with tomatoes, lettuce and onions.
We will no doubt be back. I give this apkce five stars because it may very well be the best place in Collinsville to eat. It would naturally not be five stars if it were located in downtown Manhatten, thus the rating must be kept in the proper perspective.

Opens early, good selection of donuts, some sandwiches are available. Very busy in the mornings. Best donuts around in my opinion, not greasy like krispy creme.

Had a Christmas lunch with a small group of ladies from our church. Food was super and dessert incredible. Most of us has salads, quiche, sandwiches and soup combinations. Has a country tea room feeling but plenty of men are there for lunch because the food is very good. They have an old fashion soda fountain too. Fairly limited menu and only open during lunch.(Check hours & days open) The restaurant is located inside the Lovejoy's on Main store towards the back. The restaurant and store are run by the Lovejoys who you will see cooking, serving and stopping by to say hi. The shopping is great too in the store. Highly recommended.

I have eaten lunch here before, but didn't take time to write a review. Stopped here again today, and decided it was time write.
The "specials of the day" is best bargain. Wish I had gone with that option today. It was chicken fried steak on a bun. Made with steak right out of their fresh meat display. The people that got them, loved them.
I got a double (two 1/4 patties) mushroom and Swiss. It was good. But, they charged me $2 for mushrooms. Which is not a ton of money... but, the burger had two mushroom slices. $1 per slice of mushroom seems excessively overpriced. I was expecting a pile of mushrooms for $2. Heck... I could have added another patty of beef for that price. Burger and tea was over $10 without a side.
That being said... The place is still awesome! I just won't order mushrooms on my burger again. :)
Highly recommend getting off the highway and taking a short drive here for lunch!
Deli serves food from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

Everything was acceptable, except one of the sides was Mac and Cheese. Terrible, fresh out of the individual serving packet per the cashier when questioned.... Shame on an eatery to do this... If you can't make Mac & Cheese, get it off the menu.

After spending a mild August Day boating on Beautiful Lake Texoma, our family enjoyed a delicious meal at Catfish Haven.
We have always enjoyed their 3 piece catfish entree. The catfish has a cornmeal batter, fried and cooked to a delicious crunch. The meal comes with their own receipe battered fritters, along with two sides.
The restaurant is only 20 minutes from the north shores of the lake, which is convenient.
Mark Mrusek, the owner, asked us if we enjoyed our dinner, as we were leaving.
When you visit Catfish Haven, come hungry.
Oh, they also have delicious home-made pie So!

We haven't tasted anything from this restaraunt that wasn't absolutely wonderful! Everything is made fresh.....no frozen pre-made stuff here. I am very picky about chips and salsa, but I LOVE both here. The salsa is freshly made and has great flavor. You won't be disappointed!!

We have ridden by several times but never stopped. After our poor experience at Kathy & Bebo's 20 minutes earlier, we were seeking breakfast without the wait and hassles. It was great food and the service was quick. This will be on our goto list from now on.

I don't usually post information on fast food places, because I seldom ever stop at one of them. This one is going to be an exception because I did stop for a quick breakfast and coffee and found it very satisfying. The coffee and breakfast on a bun were both delicious and the service was quick.

Home of The Original Golden Tenders, Golden Chick is a fast food restaurant chain offering Golden Fried or Roast Chicken, Fried Catfish, Sandwiches, Fresh Salads, Yeast Rolls and a variety of Sides.
It been a few months since we were here, however we never made a review and since we were once again in the area we at least got a photo this time. The food was very good---we like Golden Chick. We stick to white meat and have always found it to be good, moist and hot and the breading is excellent. One of the best eating places in Whitesboro.
