Whippany is an unincorporated community located within Hanover Township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. Whippany's name is derived from the Whippanong Native Americans, a tribe that once inhabited the area. Don Jose is one of the rare truly authentic Mexican food restaurants in the area. Traditional décor, perfect service. The chips and salsa were homemade. Service staff was quick and very friendly. The whole family went and all the food was perfectly seasoned. Large portions with rice and beans prepared just right. Bathrooms were clean and well kept. If you are in the area it is a must try.

We are a small 48 seat BYOB restaurant. Chef/Owner Matthew Pierone has been named to Best chefs America (BCA) list since 2013. He specializes in fresh, creative Italian cuisine and is known for his Pork chops, fish and bread pudding. Outstanding customer service is a main focus at the Gourmet Cafe.
Went for dinner tonight and was pleasantly surprised as to the appearance and quality of the service. The food was good and the atmosphere better than you expect for a strip mall. The appetizers we ordered were very good and the entrees were good. Price...MoreHarry, Thank you for trying us. I am glad you liked the service, atmosphere and food! We appreciate you taking the time to leave your thoughts. Chef Matthew

It's a popular steak house and has been here a long time. Off and on over the years I've gone there. If you like steak and are not fussy about it, it is pretty good. Big slabs of meat, often over salted (I don't know why it tastes so salty) done the way you want it. Boisterous atmosphere...nothing fancy. It's very popular and often there are lines to get in. Plenty of parking in the immediate area. In my opinion, its about meat, lots of it, and beer (mostly). It's better than the chain steak houses but it's not fine dining like Ruth Chris. Prices are fair for the quality.

Up-end italian restaurant with great food but overpriced in comparison to existing similar alternatives. Service atentive.

When in the area I stop in, mostly for the pizza (plain) but the is my personal favorite here. Their other foods are good and the service is always good. There tends to be a wait at night but not so long that you should go some where else.

Welcome to New Jersey's Legendary Steak House Rod's Steak & Seafood Grille, an area landmark and winner of New Jersey Monthly's 'Best Steakhouse' award, offers lunch and dinner daily as well as the finest Sunday Brunch in New Jersey. The restaurant's new design, rich wood paneling and highly polished brass, lends a classic elegance to the sophisticated atmosphere. For an intimate and unique experience, dinner aboard the private Parlour Cars is sure to be remembered. Formerly the private domain of the rich and famous, these beautifully refurbished, turn of the century railway cars are exquisitely complimented by the haute cuisine of Rod's esteemed Executive Chef.
Our family gathering of eight went to Rod's for Sunday brunch, and it was an enjoyable experience. The old-school elegance of the room contributes to the feeling of dining in style. The service was excellent, both attentive and friendly. The food offered is several notches above the ordinary brunches available in the area. Included is an omelette station, a carving station, and a very large selection of salads (including seafood) and cheeses of all types. The dessert table with cakes, pastries, and fruit is varied and delicious. At $30 a head, it isn't inexpensive, but neither is it outrageous. We all agreed it is well worth returning.

H2Ocean Restaurant & Raw Bar in Cedar Knolls, NJ "From Hook to Plate" Our practices support all local fisheries and vegetable farms. No farmed fish here... Our Team prepares to impress!
Went there for dinner with my husband and son. We had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, well prepared and very fresh. Our server was Gabby and she was efficient and attentive. I had occasion to speak with the manager Lindsey and she was so very helpful and understanding about a food matter. Can't wait to eat there again!!!

I haven't been to Eccola for about 20 years, but wasn't disappointed. We went New Year's eve with a party of friends. With our reservation, we were seated after a short wait. The service was very attentive and the modern styled restaurant is attractive. Eccola has a very large menu from soup to dessert. We had a few appetizers and salads, followed by entrees from veal to seafood. All were very good, however some of our diners felt the quantity left them hungry. The desserts were great with a huge selection.

The Brookside Diner is a very convenient spot for a breakfast bite when we want to meet friends and family for a visit. Desiree was a friendly attentive waitress--quick to refill our coffee when she could see that we were getting to the bottom of the mug. Our orders came quickly and correctly and I enjoyed my banana/blueberry pancakes complete with Sugar-free syrup! (Asking for that gave Desiree a smile!) We make this a regular stop when we are in the area.
