Vie, named after the French word for life, offers seasonal, contemporary American cuisine inspired by Western European cultures and rustic fare. Chef and owner Paul Virant focuses on year-round seasonal eating with a menu featuring housemade pickles and preserves. Locally grown, artisan ingredients from Midwestern family farms are showcased. The restaurant is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday.
Visited here with business colleagues. It's tucked out of the way (seemed almost in a residential neighborhood), but well worth looking for. We had an amazing dinner, from charcuterie to dessert.

The bakery is an absolutely adorable old-fashioned store. The chocolate frosting is incredible and their cakes are super moist and fluffy. The smiley face cookies are delicious and the tea cookies are as well. Sometimes the store can be really busy but most of the times it's not too bad at all. The coffee cakes and donuts are great if you want a sweet breakfast or for anytime really:). Their eclairs are really tasty and the little dessert cups are as well. Truly a great place in town and well worth a visit if you're passing through!

My girl friend and I wanted to try restaurants in LaGrange and saw this one on main street. Service is fast and friendly. My friend had the Baked Blueberry French Toast. The bread is dense and was not what she expected. She needed the compote addition because it was so dense and dry. Not a good choice. I had the Aussie Chicken sandwich. The chicken was not seasoned and I had to use the salt shaker which I never do. It was average sandwich. Portion size was good. We both decided we probably wont return.

This is really a fantastic restaurant with fancy desserts and food! They gives you a lot of food to eat, in which, you can take the rest of it home. We celebrated my cousin birthday. The restaurant provided a platter with different desserts to choose from; however, he could select one free for his birthday. The Seafood Platter, Fish and Potatoes, Pasta Mardi Gras, and Shrimp & Cajun Chicken Tenderloins were delicious. Please make your reservation early, otherwise, you might have to wait. However, we were in a private section. This was very nice celebration!!!

We moved away from the Hinsdale area in 2013. Visiting for the weekend and we were looking forward to the usual exceptional dinning experience at Egg Harbor Hinsdale. We left a little disappointed. I ordered the Door County Melt; looking forward to the wonderful combination of flavors. Gone were the potato pancakes. No apple sauce and sour cream to spread. Salad was served dry - no dressing. Even the multi-grain bread had changed. My wife shared that she was not "wow'd" by her breakfast either.

Whether pork or beef, food is solid, tasty and definitely generous. Great place to eat AND take home leftovers. I ordered a sandwich thinking I would get less than the meal...NO, all the meat I had ordered before was sliced into the sandwich... My review title says my favorite of anything there..take home that too..

I don't know about anything "ancient" here. The pasta is hand-crafte dso it's certainly not ancient. And the people are a nice mix of young, old and families. All nationalities. A cute little birthday girl with a sparkler. Buzzing but not noisy.
In the first floor of Oak Brook Center office building. Convenient to garage. Staff is knowledgeable, quick and welcoming. For us, quick seating. Near window. Lots of action.
I had the scallops in angel hair. Very good. Our family members all had three plates of shrimp linguini. They offer brick oven pizzas. Margueritas pizzas are specialities. Pistachio gellato is delicious.

A group of five us went to Cooper's Hawk Winery to celebrate a birthday last Saturday night. It was pretty average experience. First, they put us at an expanded 4 top and the back of my chair was about 2 feet from the booth behind me. I was bumped and nudged by the wait staff throughout the meal. At a place this big, they should have a better spot for a party of five with a reservation. Not a good start.
The food was okay. I enjoyed the pot sticker, meatball, and brussel sprout appetizers that the group shared, but the skirt steak that I had for a main was not memorable. However, the experience really suffered from the timing of the meal. It was the entire time. First, we had a difficult time getting our waiter to take a cocktail order. Second, we didn't have table settings until the appetizers arrived, when we flagged down another server to get them. Next, the first bottle of wine was gone in the initial pour around the table. We weren't asked if we wanted another, and when we were finally able to request it, the bottle arrived just prior to dessert. Finally, all of the desserts came out at the same except one. It arrived once everyone else had finished. A weak excuse was offered, but no mention of taking it off the bill.
In the end, the food was okay, but the experience was disorganized and disjointed. Can't say that we'll be rushing back anytime soon.

New restaurant just open last friday
Sat outside on beautiful night. The food and service was outstanding. Serena was the best. We were unfamiliar with many items and she was extremely helpful. Had the Ricotta/ honeycomb, gnudi and blondie dessert (OMG!). It was all good and we will be back. So many other things to try.
