After three seasons of serving some of the best food Ashe County has ever known (outside our Mamas' and Grandmas' houses), the team of chefs that re-launched the historic Park Vista Restaurant and operated it through the 2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons, are parting ways with the property owners. They are leaving big shoes to fill, both at this restaurant and with the local, regional and traveling "foodies" who have come to love PV's focus on quality local and seasonal ingredients.
It seems likely that another team will bring their own concept to this cozy dining spot; we can only hope they are as dedicated to serving quality food, as the outgoing team has been.

Bohemia is a cozy coffee shop located in historic downtown West Jefferson. Perfect atmosphere for taking a break, chatting with friends, or finishing an assignment. We strive to have a welcoming environment for customers to relax, build relationships, and stay productive. We provide fast wifi for studying, working, and meeting over coffee.
We in West Jefferson are so lucky to have such a great little coffee shop right in our own little tourist town! The coffee is fabulous and the hot chocolate is to die for! Along with all the different flavors of coffee to enjoy you will find sweets that are well worth trying! It has a very nice atmosphere whether you are just picking up a cup of coffee or coming in to spend a little time looking around and just relax a little while! Take that cup of coffee or hot chocolate with you and enjoy walking through and sight seeing in our little piece of heaven in the Blue Ridge Mountains! You will be glad you did!

This little restaurant has really come a long way since they first opened. The menu has expanded greatly, and the service has really improved as well. I've really wanted to try one of their pot pies, but when I was there, I was really craving a burger. The menu says it's eight ounces and fresh--sounded good. The burger looked good too, with beautiful lettuce and tomato. I ordered it cooked medium--it was served well-done-plus, I would even say burned. It didn't have the flavor, texture or appearance of a fresh burger. It seemed like a frozen foodservice patty. Maybe it was 8 ounces, but definitely not as big as other restaurants serve for their 8 ounce burger, or maybe it was just cooked *that* much. The burger wasn't "bad"--it just wasn't good, and nowhere nearly as good as the other food I have eaten here. I wouldn't order the burger again. Onion rings were ok. The lemon-berry mascarpone cake was excellent--similar to what some chain restaurants sell as "Italian Cream Cake". The lemon flavor was delicate, the berries were bursts of flavor, and the cream layer in the middle was moist and tasty. I am disappointed that they keep and serve their cake slices in disposable plastic containers. I understand why they do it, but it does seem wasteful. Service was very good.

Went for their Fri/Sat prime rib special, was not disappointed.
A very nice cut of beef, cooked your way, and sides
Went for salad bar and had a very nice selection, one of the best I have seen in a very long time and everything was fresh
Prime rib had very little fat, almost none and was cooked the way we asked, rare and medium rare. We both got the 8oz but couldn't finish along with the sides and bread.

Our family of 4, including 2 kids ages 7 &5, ate lunch here on a busy Saturday. The wait staff got to us right away with no wait. Our waitress was friendly, helpful, and prompt with attention. Our lunches were simple, but delicious, and very affordable. My kids both loved their cookies & my husband swooned over the cherry/cream cheese dessert. Wonderful little shop!!

Great atmosphere and crowd of regulars. Julie is so fun to hang with and really nice. Love the wifi for working when I'm in town. Been coming here for years while we are in town visiting family. They have books to share which is how I found one of my favorite authors. Had an awesome pumpkin espresso chai, quiche, chicken salad, macaroni salad, fresh fruit and veggies. Haven't found a thing I haven't liked. Julie found a clever way to keep your iced coffee cold and it not get watered down.

We have been voted Best Restaurant in Ashe County for two years running by the Mountain Times Best of the Best Awards.
For indoor dining, The Hotel Tavern has a bar side with some dining tables and a separate side with dining tables for a more private dinner - both would be pleasant experiences. They also have outdoor dining seating. My wife and I were celebrating her birthday so sate on the more private dinner side. The waiter was quick, knowledgeable and friendly and the food and service were excellent. We split the pot stickers and a pork tenderloin dinner as enjoyed some local brewed beers. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
