Our late aunt told us about this place just halfway between Houston & Austin. Nice kolaches and cakes and a gift shop. When you need a natural break , gas and a bite this is the place.

Stopped by and ordered chicken salad on a croissant---YUMMY!!! And the coconut cream pie was the best. Homemade/fresh food is always better.

I have been travelling between San Antonio for over 30 years. I always make it a point to stop at THIS Dairy Queen as the food and service never disappoint. Love the burgers and ice cream. You may say, just a Dairy Queen but it beats other fast food places by a mile.

I'm not kidding. We had peach, apricot, poppyseed, and cheese for breakfast. They're huge and two are plenty, but we ate three each just because they're so good. They have other pastries, pigs-in-blankets, etc., but if I'm ever lucky enough to get back here I'm going straight to the sweet kolaches (if there are any savory ones, I didn't notice.
It's only a short detour off I-10, and well worth it. The building is old and somewhat shabby, but don't let that put you off. Go inside, take a booth, order some kolaches from the case and a cup of coffee, and enjoy yourself. Or get some to go. Or both.
By the way, one listing on the web says they're not open until 9:00 a.m., But don't believe it. They were doing business when we arrived at 7:30.

My son and I sat at the bar and enjoyed an excellent meal while served by attentive and friendly staff. Food quality and taste was way up there. Definitely recommend to eat here if driving between Houston and SA. We tried the strawberry field salad, Asiago/mushroom pizza and the lamb burger. The goat cheese and the salad was excellent and complimented the fresh strawberries and grilled shrimp. Thank you. We will be back if in the area again.

Nolan Ryan's signature beef makes this burger a winner. It is simple and delicious Hardy and with great taste. It is cooked to perfection with No greasy aftertaste. The jalapenos give it just the right amount of spice. This burger makes Texas proud! Ya'll drop on by and enjoy a great burger.

This is the side salad! It came in a hot sauce container. If you order to go...it is pretty bad consistently. Service is awful, they almost always overcharge and you get home with a good portion of the order missing or wrong. The food is good for the area if you dine in.

Ina's kitchen is a family oriented restaurant. We serve comfort foods with a gourmet twist and Food is cooked fresh and from scratch upon ordering. All salads are made with fresh lettuce that is cut daily.
We were so tired and hot rom spending a day at the Round Top Antique Week that we didn't want to get back in the car to drive somewhere. We ended up walking over to Ina's and we were peasantry surprised. I just had a side order of grilled green beans but my friend had a full meal and it was clean, the service was excellent.

I now eat here at least once a week. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets are so good that I have yet to order from the big menu. Everyone I have taken there has found something to their liking. Sausage & Sauerkraut every day, outstanding pork ribs most of the time, real roast Turkey and dressing on sundays, salad bar, great peach cobbler.....soups, fried chicken, ham on various days. Great breakfasts. Decently long hours, friendly service. And a great candy and kolache store in the front room. Not expensive...great value for money!

Real Deal Soul Food is really a little hole in the wall place. But isn't that sometimes the best kind of place? The food is freshly prepared and is really a slice of good country cooking. The burgers are just about the best we've ever had. They taste like a really good homemade burger. The onion ring order is enough to feed 2 or 3 and they are very good. They don't get in a hurry but the food is worth the wait.
