Located right in the center of town across from the courthouse, this little cafe is a jewell. There is a show case with scones ($4), cinnamon rolls ($4), cookies ($1), & cakes. My white chocolate scone was the best I ever ate. My family loved...MoreThank you SO MUCH for taking the time to review the Cafe -- we appreciate the feedback and kind words -- hope to see you again soon!

A funky & relaxing atmosphere featuring smoked on-site BBQ & fresh handmade patties. Extensive menu with lots to choose from. Breakfast & Lunch served all day. Try the donuts-fresh made daily.
Our first impression was a bad one. When we walked in there was no one to be seen anywhere. We stood and looked at the hand written menu on the wall board. After a minute or so someone come out from the back and took our order. We were asked to pay for the food when we ordered! I think I know why, because after we got our food the waitress never come back again! The drinks are served in the bottle or can, no straws to be seen anywhere. While we waited for our food we noticed EVERY table was dirty including the one we sat at. We wanted to wipe it off before sitting down but there were no napkins to be seen anywhere. We had to ask for a napkin when the food was brought out. Another real negative was the amount of flies in the place, we constantly had to wave them off. I will say that the my burger was real good other than the (homemade) bun was on the dry side and crumbled up, it was hard to hold the sandwich together. My wife said her sandwich was just so-so, nothing to brag about.

Easily the best pizza in town! Ranks up there as some of the best pizza we've had, including what we've had in NYC.

This local restaurant regularly changes names, but always has great country cooking.
It had new tables on this visit and our waitress was so pleasant and helpful. My husband and I both had the senior catfish plate ($5.98) with baked potatoes and hush -puppies, and all meals come with white beans and onions. After you eat you are invited to get a complimentary ice cream cone. How better to top off a good meal??? When we visit family in Waverly, this is always our first meal out. If you haven't already, give it a try.

I really enjoyed the menu selection and the explanation of the sauces they use to make their Baked Beans. The sauces were delicious and were somewhat needed to help with the BBQ Pork sandwich have a little more flavor. The prices were very fair and the portions were generous. They had my favorite desert banana pudding as an add on to the menu, which made me very happy. The only suggestion which can probably be brought up when ordering is to get extra coleslaw on the sandwich for that juicy crunch.

Another great find in Waverley! When it says fresh and hot, they mean it! My Stromboli was excellent and the sausage and pepper sub was great. Service was fantastic and the prices are super. Don't miss this one if you are hankering for good Italian!

Stopped in for a quick lunch.Passed by this placed many times; don't judge a book by its cover.Inside was neat and clean, service good. Had a burger , which was big and hand patted. Two guys at next table had huge steaks that looked good. Will be back to try something different.

Located in downtown Waverly, Samuel's offers a great alternative to standard food fare. It seems to be a fresh kitchen with none of the usual comes-frozen-in-a-box that is offered in many small town eateries. The bread that is a must-try. It is crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and served with and rosemary infused dipping oil. Also, give the fried green tomatoes a whirl...just like Grandma used to make! My favorite dish is the Capon Florentine. I rarely order chicken in a restaurant, but this is lovely with the wilted spinach and marinara. The Coho salmon and mahi mahi are tasty, too. If you are looking to discover a delicious meal in a town with limited choices, Samuel's on the Square is a real find!
