Stopped into this great little bakery while in Bay St. Louis. If you blink, you'll miss this place, but the breads and other items are delicious! Breakfast, sandwiches, and to-go loaves of specialty breads are offered daily. The proprietor is friendly and engaging, offering sample of any foods you might be interested in. You won't get this product or service a big box or chain...
We'll be back!

We were en route to another restaurant for dinner (which was closed), so we decided to give the Rum Kitchen a try. Wow!
Full bar with excellent drinks. Expansive menu with lots of choices. Food was wonderful, service was great, prices reasonable, and the key lime pie was "double-decker" (two slices stacked atop one another). Didn't see that one coming!
Our favorite restaurant in Waveland, hands down. We'll be back with friends!

The service was really bad on a Friday night. It didn't look particularly busy. The food was good. Shrimp tacos were not much food for 14 bucks though. It was also very warm inside by the main bar.

Can't say enough good things about Grammy's Donuts. I look forward to going each time I visit Bay St Louis. Apple Fritters are phenomenal. Always a good crowd every morning. I got some of their Mardi Gras donuts to bring over to New Orleans with me. Almost like a mini King Cake by itself. They didn't last long. Excellent. Great service too!

We almost did not stay because when we entered the front vestibule we could smell cigarette smoke. Once we entered through the restaurant area door, the smell was gone. We were greeted by a friendly, down home type staff that gave us prompt attention.
We ordered beverages from the bar which were delivered in short order. Our food order was quickly taken and our food was served in a reasonable time.
The shrimp po-boy was outstanding and probably the best we ever tasted. Light breading on the shrimp, great sauce and wonderful bun. The seafood gumbo was a little bland but some Louisiana hot sauce cured that issue. Surprisingly the side dish with the gumbo was potato salad and what a pleasant surprise that was. This PS had a smokey taste and really complimented the gumbo. A great lunch with good, friendly .service

After shopping at the huge Antique store across the street, we decided to stop at this restaurant for something to drink. After walking up on the front porch and entering through the front door, we were surprised by the unique interior. We explored the huge display of cinnamon rolls, muffins, and cookies. We decided to try the gumbo and fruit cup after looking at the menu- delicious!!!! For dessert, a chocolate chip cookie was necessary!!! Yummy!!! Service was excellent and dining on the porch, on such a beautiful day, was a wise decision. Try this restaurant!!

200 North Beach Restaurant was birthed after Katrina by Ms Ann Tidwell and her family. Local Residents helped to restore the historic Echo building on the Gulf Coast scenic byway. The walls are adorned with old photographs as precious to local's as the bead board walls. 200 North Beach is known for serving fresh Gulf seafood, tender steaks and homestyle dishes in a warm atmosphere where guests are treated just like family.
Just read another review that says the original owner has sold to another party. I assume that's true. I have no other information on a change of ownership. But, read on....
A week or so ago we hosted two other couples to dinner at 200 North Beach. Most everyone - other than I - ordered seafood and they were content with their orders.
I decided on one of the nightly specials and ordered the beef on a skewer. The beef was cooked to perfection. There were two large pieces of beef (and I mean large pieces) on the skewer along with onions, peppers, and other veggies. The seasoning was terrific. So, what was wrong with it? Stringy! The first piece of beef had so many "stringy" pieces of tendon - or whatever - in it I could hardly eat it. Had to cut it into many tiny pieces in order to eat about a fourth of the first piece. The rest of that piece was wasted. I was not a happy camper.
I did take the other piece of beef home in a go box. Strangely enough, the piece of beef I took home was excellent and was not stringy.
So, based on the satisfaction of our guests, I would have rated 200 North Beach a five. But considering the terrible piece of beef I was served, I'm giving them a three.
If there has been an ownership change, the new folks need to get with it. The previous owner would have never let that piece of beef come out of the kitchen.
One other point that never happened previously with us at 200 North Beach. My wife told me her bar drink didn't taste right. I tasted it and it tasted like a coke (without any alcohol) that had been sitting with ice cubes in it for an hour or so. I pointed this out to our server and asked if she would take it to the bartender and get him to make it right. She did, and it came back as a good bar drink. Could this be attributed to a new owner or a new bartender? I don't know. Never happened to us before at 200 North Beach.
Will I go back? Probably, but will stick to seafood. By the way, the service from our wait person was outstanding.
