We have had breakfast and lunch there. Both meals were delicious. Service was okay. Staff was friendly just a little slow. Not too bad. The menu has variety. The place is clean. It is small so you may have a short wait for a table. They always seem to have customers. They are not open all day. They are a breakfast and lunch restaurant. We will definitely be going back. I love their omelets and French toast. So yummy!

I ordered a birthday cake for a office employee. It looked great and was tasted good. Some places its one or the other. People were friendly both working their and customers. I only wish they had a web site that you could order from.

Located in historic downtown Waterloo, Illinois, and just minutes from the metro St. Louis area, Gallagher's has been serving the best fried chicken, house-ground burgers and premium steaks for over a decade.
All three floors were rockin' in a traditional sort of way. Great food and bar! Unique Sunday family-style Chicken Dinner, AYCE. Chicken is hot, not greasy, superbly seasoned - but, no one is talking. Comfort food in a comfort space filled with clean, not-over-done antiques. Corn casserole magnificent. And Granny can't hold a place in the green bean competition. Nuanced garlic in skin-on mashed potatoes. You must go. I must go back.

It's DQ by golly. Quality and service were what you'd expect from a Dairy Queen...excellent and quick. Management was quick to fix a problem with our order without hesitation. Kudos to the on-duty manager for sure. The restrooms were clean which is a plus.

This is the most authentic Mexican food we've found close to home in the STL area.
Limited on seating but we've rarely had a long wait. Outdoor seating available too!
The menu offers the normal dishes but with a little extra reading you'll find some very different and authentic dishes mixed in too! Ask for the special menu that offers 6 specialty dishes!
This is our go-to when in town and with or without kids!

Weird but good. Best salad anywhere anytime. Schedule is flexible and seating has 2 tables maybe. But great pizza

Delicious Italian Food. Very good recipes. Always hot and fresh ingredients. Chef will come out to speak to you to be sure you are happy. Very reasonably priced. Do try the cajun pasta! OMG!!

Hopskeller Brewing Company is a 10-bbl brewpub in the heart of historic downtown Waterloo, Illinois. The ales made on-site focus on Northwestern American and English styles. In addition to craft beer and a full bar (which offers one of the most comprehensive offerings of local Illinois wines in the area), we also serve pizzas, brats, hot dogs, and pretzels from our wood-fired oven. Salads and soup are also available. Come enjoy our beer and food in a gorgeous historic setting. Our pet-friendly patio is open year-round.
While visiting family in Belleville, we took a lunch drive out to Waterloo to check out a brand new brewpub called Hopskeller Brewing Co. We were knocked out by the restoration job on a 150 year old building, with custom tables that fit the industrial theme well. We had a flight of their house-brewed beers and they were excellent ! We had pizza and found it wonderful. Nothing we didn't like about this place.

Looking for a great place, I started to feel like I was at Cheers, where everybody knows your name. Pat (Patrick) was work8ng the bar and did an excellent job of making everyone feel welcome. Great place where the Waterloo locals hang out, but definitely a place I would recommend for anybody to stop in. I didn’t eat there, but from the crowd who were gathering to eat was a pretty good indicator to the TravelGuy this was at a minimum, a great Friday evening place to eat. I certainly felt welcome and would recommend to anyone headed that direction.

A group of us went to this restaurant for lunch on the recommendation of the instructor of the class we were attending. This is definitely a local watering hole, normally my favorite kind of place. The open - faced roast beef sandwich sounded like the perfect comfort food on a cold winter day. Sadly, the reality did not match the anticipation. The beef was poorly seasoned and had an "off", almost freezer burnt taste. The potatoes and gravy were equally bland. The slaw had an indifferent vinaigrette dressing. I would have given the restaurant a poor rating based on my food alone, but my friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
