Because of the ratings, I wanted to give this place a try. In my opinion, it didn't live up to the expectations. Service was quite slow. Waitress kept talking to other tables while she waited on us and she did the same with us when...MoreWe are happy to hear that you stopped and gave us a try. We apologize that your expectations weren't met. We strive to be the best that we can be here at Bridges. We hope that you will give us another try in the future.

This is an "on your honor" coffee shop. They have a machine and an assortment of K-cups. You make your own and put the money of credit card slip into a slot. They also have bottled drinks and ice creams. It is in an old bank building and they have work by local artists on the wall. A great place.

We ordered garlic cheese bread and the manhandler this time. Both were excellent. We usually order the chicken bacon ranch but decided to try something different. Was not disappointed, just as good as our usual pizza we order when in town. Was a little concerned with eating here since it was sold as the frozen pizza is not the same and wasn't sure how the Resturant was going to be.

In a town where there's no McDonald's or Walmart one might conclude that, naturally, there wouldn't be a Starbucks. One would be wrong! There is a Starbucks in the student center at VCSU. It's hours are narrower than a big city Starbucks but you get the genuine article here!

Very quiet for a Friday night. Our service was very prompt and attentive, but I suspect this is the norm. We had the Cabernet Peppercorn Ribeye and Sirloin Tips with Mushrooms and a baked potato. The dishes were tremendous and arrived HOT!!!! Outstanding from beginning to end. Will definitely be back should we find ourselves out this way again!!

A colleague and I got a hankering for pizza while in Valley City. There are few options, and we tried Jimmy's. We were the only customers there, which was a bit concerning. The girl at the counter was pleasant and our order arrived in good time. I found the pizza to be very good with a nice crisp crust. However, the server set our pies down on the table and walked off. I had to go ask for plates and napkins. Seems like common sense that dine-in customers would want those items, right? A little more staff training send necessary, but I would go to Jimmy's again when in the area.

My husband and I ordered breakfast and I was astounded at the size of the pancakes which came out of the kitchen as I'm not sure what size spatula they are using back there. (A shovel, maybe...?) He ordered the chicken fried steak with pancakes and hashbrowns, and a cup of coffee. I ordered a cheese omelette with hashbrowns and toast.
The food was all cooked fresh and to order. It was delicious and we could not finish what was on our plates.
Service is super friendly, too.
Pricing was a bit steeper than we thought it would be; With tip, we paid $30.88 for the two of us.

I've eaten here several times over the years, but I find myself going less and less often.
During my last visit, service was incredibly slow and limited. I ordered a medium rare New York strip steak. It showed up done medium well and covered in black pepper. I hate black pepper and this is the first time I've ordered a steak somewhere and had pepper added to it for me. The waitress never checked back until she thought we'd had sufficient time to finish our food. We would have LOVED to order more drinks, etc, but never had the opportunity to do so.
Prices keep going up and portion sizes keep getting smaller. It was about $65 for my meal and two "kids meals". Not impressed. The only reason I go here anymore is when a family member wants to go there. It's family friendly only if your children don't mind staring at a wall for 45 minutes while they are waiting for their food.
If you're looking for good food and service, go to Sabir's instead. You'll pay roughly the same, but the food is SO much better and you won't have to flag down the wait staff.
