We came to the Yard last Friday for a fish dinner but surprisingly they did not offer fish of any kind. I would guess there are quite a few of the Catholic faith living within the town and within driving distance.
We have been here a couple times but only was able to get in because of the crowd. When we did get in another time, we found the menu very enticing and the Pasta was simply great. It's understandable why the place is jam packed at dinner time! This trip, we live about 20 miles away, we purposely came at about 1:30-2pm and found a seat immediately. The waitress was vey attentive and friendly. To our surprise she said they had no fish, so we ordered a meatless Pasta Alfredo that was excellent and the serving was quite large, enough so that we bought some home and had that for lunch the next day.
We will definitely return and bring friends knowing they won't be disappointed. No doubt it will be after Lent if we go on a Friday.

Very popular local donut shop.
One of the best doughnut shops arouund. Used to go here a lot for breakfas. They have a great breakfast, eggs, homefries, toast, ect. at reasonable prices plus. a great variety of some of the best doughnuts around. Not a fancy place but a good place to stop in whether for a very reasonable good breakfast or to pick up some great pasteries.

I love DQ's chili dogs with the all beef dogs and tasty chili sauce. Not at this one, really bad chili dog. Like a lot of places in the twin cities, sugar is their main ingredient. The chili sauce tasted like tomato soup with a cup of sugar in it.

This restaurant is situated right in front of the motel where I was staying. On previous visits I avoided it because it looked like either a truck stop or a dive. The outside is not appealing. However, on this visit, I ate there two nights. One night I had the spaghetti with meatballs and the other night the Fiesta chicken. Both were specials, and both were actually quite good and quite filling. The meatballs were hidden under the pasta and initially I did not see them, but they were good and large. The chicken was two pounded breasts covered with cheese and pepper and onion. It, too, was down home good cooking. The waitresses seemed to know everyone else in the place, so I will assume that this is a regular hang out for locals. It was never crowded, but they seem to be staying in business. The décor is, like the exterior, either truck stop or dive. The general feeling I got in the place, however, was friendly.
I prefer not to give 5 stars to any restaurant which does not have tablecloths and cloth napkins because I like to reserve those ratings for real upscale restaurants. However, 4 stars for me means excellence in everyday restaurants and 3 stars is just very good and worth visiting.

So we were actually going to the other place in Dennison, but it was crowded. Went to TA and found this place. Nice find. Friendly. Small but on the Main Street. Food was good. Would definitely return.

I visited the new Dover location during a recent trip to Ohio, and was very impressed. The ice cream is delicious! I highly recommend the Buckeye Blast flavor. The menu has a lot of options, prices are just right, and the atmosphere is charming.
