Main Street Perk

Reviewed By bbqueen05 - Westminster, Colorado

We stopped here to have a drink and get a bit of work done. The atmosphere was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The drinks were pretty mediocre compared to some of the better coffee houses in the city, but for out here, they were excellent. We didn't try the food, but it all looked and smelled very yummy.

Silver Spur Restaurant

Reviewed By irisho_10 - Vancouver, Canada

The Silver Spur is right off Highway #2 for easy parking. The restaurant has a great interior, although the men's washroom is tiny. I had the Big Montana BLT, and it was delicious. There is a good selection of beer on tap.

Kootenai Kupboard

Reviewed By 8TrackLincoln - Maple Ridge

I stopped in during a recent trip through Montana, and Kootenai Kupboard was something like a godsend at that point in the day. Beyond the fact they had a mouth-watering array of baked goods at the ready they put together the best and most filling sandwich that I've devoured in a long time, all fresh and a bargain at $5. Coupled with some excellent coffee, and yes - a Huckleberry danish that was greatly enjoyed back home- it was a very happy stopover. Points to the staff too, who were very friendly and helpful. The next time I travel through the area again I'll absolutely stop in again.

R Place

Reviewed By Chuck B - Houston, Texas

On 7/22/16 our GPS only showed two restaurants in this town - one was closed and the other one had two cars. Kept driving into town and found R-Place. Clean and courteous employees. I had 1/2 roast beef with bowl of soup. Wife had chicken S/W. Both very good. Topped that off with large huckleberry malt (OK, not good on calories but what the heck, we're retired and on vacation!!). Heading W out of town, another restaurant on your right.

Halfway House

Reviewed By Paul M - Libby, Montana

Bar, casino machines, and small menu inside. Outside, in the back, is a stage with informal seating (not a bad idea to bring your own chairs) and an outside kitchen where some decent barbeque can be had during special events. Live music can range from country bands to country-rock or even bluesy-rock. Outside bar is used when bands are playing for both beer and hard liqueur. There is camping out beyond the back fence and it's a popular place when they do annual, multi-day music events. Parking is not great out front, but there is room for overflow nearby. They can have music several times during the year but holiday events are best in the warmer months. Call to get a schedule of up-coming events.

Jack's Cafe

Reviewed By Joan O - Troy, Montana

This is a truly unique restaurant. Kathy has cooked there since the 1960's, when she took it over from Jack. It has a limited but VERY inexpensive and delicious menu, you can get breakfast for well under $5. Get there by 8 and enjoy playing dice with the regulars, but ask them to explain the rules. If you loose, you might be liable for buying the house a round of coffee, which will probably cost you another 3 or 4 bucks, as coffee is 25 cents a cup. Go soon, as Kathy is not getting any younger! And she is awesomely grumpy, you will love her!

Great food and amazing service! The menu is varied--includes burgers, pizza, fried chicken, salads, and wraps. Prices are very reasonable. Attached to bowling alley/restaurant is the bar that offers a nice atmosphere for relaxing and having an adult beverage. A must stop in Troy.

Yaak River Tavern and Mercantile

Took a ride up the Yaak to view Fall Folliage and decided to stop for some lunch. Opted for their pizza which was a thin crust masterpiece! Very tasty sauce and toppings. The service was good. Other menu options included burgers (which we have had here before, and were very good).
