For over 70 years, our restaurant has been recognized far and wide as the premier dining establishment in southwestern Michigan. And the main reason for that, we believe, is our simple credo for operating a successful restaurant -- a credo first set forth and applied by our founder, Emil Tosi back in 1948: "Choose only the finest basic ingredients to prepare your cuisine, serve it efficiently in a pleasant atmosphere, and love your fellow man."
My wife, daughter and I were headed Black
From Chicago after seeing HAMILTON and were looking for a place for dinner not too far off the highway. We are so happy we found Tosi’s, from the minute we walked in we felt welcomed, like we had been there a hundred times. Krystal was our waitress and did a great job, we will ask for her again. The food was magnificent, my daughter had the lasagna which melted in your
Mouth (had to try a bite) my wife had the Wood Fired Gnocchi and it was the best she has ever had. I had the Seafood Arrabbiata and loved it.
The desserts are baked next door and are incredible as well.
We found out the restaurant has been in business 79 years and I can see why.
We live 2 hours away or we would be regulars, we will definitely make a trip over this summer to see out new friends at Tosi’s again.
Thank you!

We visited based on the positive reviews and the food (we got bread, croissants, and a couple of cakes) were generally good, however most of the items were unpriced so the final bill was a surprise, and not in a good way!
It seemed to be more of a takeaway than a restaurant.

I was so happy to find my favorite coffee shop within an hour of my home. There's a drive thru for convenience and a nice area to sit outside on a warm day. There were flavors of coffee I haven't seen before in stores and I can't wait to try them.

Grande Mere Inn is a family owned and operated restaurant started in 1980 by Pete and Nancy Racine. The tradition of fine quality continues with their son Charley and his wife Tricia. The goal of the Racine's has always been to provide a pleasurable dining experience; providing high quality food, friendly service, and a stunning view of Lake Michigan.
I was looking forward to a special dinner. Maybe it's true that distance lends enchantment.
But even after an hour's drive to get here, the anticipation and expectation did not engender a special experience. It wasn't bad, by any means, it just wasn't "special" or extraordinary. And for a half rack of ribs with a handful of fried perch, $30 seems just a little high for that entree. Our wine was $8 and $9/glass so that's reasonable. The whitefish special was $25. For OK flavor. Perhaps if the sky wasn't clouded over we would have at least had the enchantment of a nice sunset.
The tables are very close together which, although maximizes guests per square foot, puts the backs of chairs sometimes bumping against a guest at an adjacent table. Certainly, there's nothing special about being crowded.
Charity, our server, was very good. Although she was quite busy she was attentive, helpful and pleasant. She also boxed up our leftovers for us which was a convenience.
Whether or not the sky is cloudy, I'd recommend asking for a table next to the west window. Although it overlooks a driveway, somewhat of a view of Lake Michigan lies beyond and it's better to have that space on one side of your table than being squeezed in next to a group of loud raucous guests on all sides. Besides, there is the possibility of a view.
In any regard, make sure you get a reservation. It must be that a lot of people are enchanted with Grand Mere Inn. I'm just not one of them.

Sandra Kay's is a bakery that also has a little area for eating, where you can have a breakfast, a lunch, and I'm not sure about whether they're open at supper. Their baked goods are excellent, and they even do wedding cakes. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

I've been to this restaurant two times now. The food is always good. Not incredible but good. And the portions are large for the price. But today we went on a very rainy statue to watch the Michigan game. They have satellite for all their TVs. You can guess what happens next. Reception was spotty at best. I don't know if there is a solution to this since this place is in the middle of nowhere. But I sure hope they look into it.

You get exactly what you think you are at DQ. Friendly clean franchise. They don't mind me ordering a Pecan Mudslide with whipped cream even though it is not on the menu. Decent chili cheese dog. Decent fries.

Tried there new Brussel Sprout & Kale salad as a side. It was very good, similar to broccoli salad. Good service and very fair prices. Had the Chicken and Dumplings which was prepared well. The chicken was tender. Enjoyed the Lemonade mixed with their Ice Tea, it was unique, but won't do it again. They are much better alone.

Stopped in after work for breakfast and was delighted with the results. A local restaurant open just for breakfast and lunch, prices aren't too bad and the food was delicious. They have a nice array of options and everything at the table was fresh. This place has been around for many years, with several different owners. The inside decor is a bit old school, but our waitress was very friendly and they have daily specials. Pass up the standard fast food joints off the highway and head north a mile and you'll find a local gem!

Culver's is very good for fast food, delivered to your table. I like their burgers. Within a few blocks there are Culver's, Burger King, McDonald's and Big Boy, in declining order of my preference.
