Proudly serving Steelville since 1962, Dairy Isle & Grill has been serving up the best burgers, ice cream, and shakes in town for over 54 years!
This by far has the best hamburgers anywhere in the Midwest! They begin with real fresh beef, making the patty's and cooking it when you order, not before. Their selection of Ice Cream specialty's is awesome. Everything on the menu is made fresh, so you...MoreClyde, We are so glad that you stopped by the Dairy Isle and that you had such a positive experience with our staff and our food. Making great Burgers and Shakes is our goal and we really appreciated your glowing review. Thanks

We had such a fun time in this charming place! The staff was friendly and the food was very good. We highly recommend the ribs, brisket and pulled pork. We took fruit cobbler back to our hotel room for later and it was delicious!

Located straight south of Cuba, MO off of I-44 in Missouri...just 8 miles from the Interstate (10 min drive). Steelville is an adorable tiny hamlet. More importantly for outdoor enthusiasts, is it's location in proximity to three favorite floating streams...the Meramec River, Huzzah Creek and Courtois Creek! Nice family atmosphere. Outdoor seating available. Awesome variety of BBQ sauces. Great menu with variety. Awesome pulled pork...white meat, tender and moist! Great sampler platters. Nice selection of 'sides' and some are unique...such as the yummy German potato salad, or the cucumber/onion salad, etc. Quick service. Clean facility with cute ambiance. We eat here every time after we float the Huzzah! What a treat!

Shelly's is great! Doesn't get any more local. small diner with Shelly herself cooking up delicious breakfast. All the usual breakfast items but we loved all of the dishes we ordered. Was a little uncomfortable with the local's conversation but it was a great time. Definitely a must if passing through during breakfast/lunch time.

The Spare Rib Inn offers sandwiches and plate meals, and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have most attractive and large cinnamon rolls, and a variety of other desserts when available. There is a BBQ place across the street, but I saw more cars in the Spare Rib parking lot, and that factor helped me make what turned out to be a great choice. Service was fast and friendly and the food served up hot and fast. I had the special of the day: Ham and beans, fried potatos and cornbread - perfect for a gray, wet day!

A birthday diner chose this restaurant to celebrate their day. Excellent choice. The decor is delightful. The food is flavorful and well-priced. Can't say enough good there.
The only hiccup in our experience was the service. It's not that we received poor service - it's that we received too much of it.
We didn't go two minutes without one of the staff stopping by to ask if we wanted more chips & salsa or drinks topped off, no matter how many times we said no. Maybe customers had complained about poor service, and this was them trying to do better. But 4 different staff cropped up all meal long. It took us out of our experience a bit.
Still, with such good food and fun flair, we'll be sure to be back next time we're in town.

Frisco's Grill and Pub is located in Cuba's Uptown Historic District, Frisco's is open Sunday through Saturday. Jimmy and Ben, owners and managers, are there to greet you. Frisco's Grill and Pub also has an outside dining area for those days and nights you want to dine out doors, and offers a private room for parties. The separate pub room has 20 beers on tap and features local Missouri craft ales. The full bar will satisfy your cocktail desire and offers a large selection of Scotch, with an expanded wine list. With 6 large tv's in the pub you'll be sure to be able to catch the game. We also will cater that special event!!
This place is pretty straight forward. Menu seemed good, varied beer selection, friendly staff. However, my group ordered four very different meals all of which were so salty it was like they pulled a prank on us. Hopefully it was just a fluke, but don't say i didn't warn you.

My wife and I have wanted to stop here and finally dropped in for lunch. It's much bigger on the inside than it looks. I ordered the chicken kabob and my wife ordered the lamb burger. Both were excellent! The marinated chicken tasted tender and fresh. My wife really enjoyed the lamb burger. The French fries were awesome! Lightly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and not the least bit greasy. We are lucky enough to live nearby, so we will absolutely go back. I would encourage anyone traveling on I-44 or old Route 66 to stop in. You won't be disappointed.
