After a long day at Rock Island State Park my family was looking forwrd to a sitting down to a good meal and decided this would be a good pkace to try. Right away we had to wait a long time for the hostess to come out to seat us. After ordering my husband had the bisque which was good but he had to wait a long time for his bread and was told my the server the oven was not working correctly. I ordered the ribeye for dinner and one side was rare the other was well done so I sent it back and asked for them to recook it. I was told at this time the grill was not heating correctly (this is starting to seem like a theme). When I was brought the second steak the entire steak was very rare so at this point my family was already done eating so I just asked the server to take it off my bill. My husband ordered the cajun sampler platter and everything was put on one plate which would be fine execpted each of the 3 items were mixed together so you could not tell which was which ( I dont know if this was the intended result). My son ordered the blackned chicken and crawfish Alfredo and it was made with bow tie pasta, the chicken was not blackened, and there wad very little crawfish. I would have sent that back to but my son was starving after a long day hiking. Through all if this the manager never came out to speak with us. Needless to say we will return.

We decided to return to Knoxville from Nashville via US 70 South instead of our usual route using I-40. When it came time for lunch, Laurie got on her smart phone and searched for possibilities in Sparta Tennessee. We were excited and hopeful when she located a Greek Restaurant as decent Greek food has eluded us since we moved to East Tennessee.
Upon being seated we immediately checked the menu for Greek options. Actually, there weren’t very many…no surprise given the restaurant’s location in the middle of Tennessee. However, Yanni’s menu does feature a Greek Gyro Sandwich…something that we’re always looking for and the item that we miss the most.
We asked our very helpful and friendly waitress a couple of questions. Is the gyro meat carved from a loaf on a split? (No) Does the house-made tzatziki sauce have any noticeable garlic flavor in it? (Some…but not a lot) Our waitress loves garlic but she said that their customers don’t like too much of it. She did say that the gyro meat is grilled and that the sandwich is good…
Based on her input, we both ordered the gyro sandwich with extra tzatziki sauce and a side of chicken rice soup. ($6.99 each plus $.50 for extra sauce) The soup was very nice and so was the gyros sandwich. While not as 'garlicy' as what we enjoyed in Chicago when we lived there, this was best gyro sandwich we’ve had anywhere in Tennessee! We will be back!

Take the back road to Burgess Falls though Sparta so you don't miss Miss Marenda's! Excellent, unique atmosphere, food and service. Don't miss this one if you like great food and unique, local restaurants!

Ok, so there is actually nothing near Fall Creek Falls... but since our experiences with the onsite restaurant were subpar we went looking and this where we ended up. Not much for looks, but the owner was friendly and food was very eatable. My onion rings were actually super good. Would likely get three circles elsewhere, but definitely a four in this area.

Pleasant surprise. I visited my relatives in Doyle, Tenn. It was absolutely charming.....quiet, personable, after two days. Great points of interest: Nappy's Garage, Chester's barber shop. You have to meet people more than half way but it is more than worth it. Chester and Pruna, what stories.
One of those "out of the way" gems.
I never knew how terrible those Yankee invaders were....should have stayed in New York City or wherever they came from. and those blue uniforms, terrible taste in style.

Bruce, the owner is very friendly hiring only friendly sociable people. Food is good and locals of Walling community hang out and talk about everyday life. Good place to eat or grab gas especially if you are in the area or headed to rock island.

Had the Meat & 2 lunch plate. Country fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. Would have given it a 5 rating, but they didn't have brown gravy which I prefer over the white gravy for my potatoes. They were very good as they were though, so no complaints (other than the men's restroom that they should nickname the "fatman's squeeze").

Drive up or walk up to Mountain Sno for a cool refreshing shaved ice! Lots of flavors available with additions of crème makes it really great.

these are by far the best doughnuts, they are dangerous because you want to keep eating, had to stop going since I just couldn't stop at 1 or 2, just kept eating.
