So the first question we asked when entering is what is the difference between "Alaskan Fry Dough", which they advertise they have, and fry dough in the lower 48? Their answer was - "because it's made in Alaska!?!?", as in they really did not have an answer. From there the quips back and forth between us and the employees went on for a few minutes. Really made this a fun stop while walking the downtown strip.
Any you know what - they did have the best Alaskan Fry Dough I've ever had, and possibly even better then any in the lower 48!!

Just had lunch here while walking around Skagway for the day. A little place with good comfort foods and a very personable owner. We ordered the caribou burger, regular cheeseburger, 1/2 rack of ribs and fish (rockfish) & chips. Everything was good and hearty portions too!
There's indoor and outdoor seating. And while it's not a fancy place it is definitely a good place! Thanks Mr. Gibson for a great lunch and our little one says thanks for the yummy chocolate chip muffin!!

Stopped in here to buy some fudge. It was terrific, plus, I didn't have to buy a HUGE amount. Good old fashioned fudge.

No matter what the weather brings to Skagway, the Sippin' Sasquatch is the perfect place to stop! On hot days, they have the best blended coffee drinks, and on those cold, rainy days, their hot coffees are such a treat! Great customer service, too! Sippin' Sasquatch.....the coffee legends are made of..... :)

I had a croissant sandwich with Turkey, eggs and cheddar cheese and some jalapenos. That along with a cappuccino hit the spot perfectly. All for less than $10. The staff including the owners Skipper and Nils (from Mississippi) were really helpful and friendly. The ambiance was great. The young lady who fixed my coffee told us how there were only 6 people in her senior class at Skagway High School. Most interestingly she told us about the high school teacher in the 1970's who had put 4 species of Salmon eggs in the little creek downtown as an experiment and how every year the salmon come back to spawn. This was taking place when we were there in August and it was a sight to behold. I wish this breakfast place was in the town where I live because it would be my favorite. I went to Alaska as my 50th state and it's a long, long way to travel back. But if you're going there or you're in Skagway already please be sure to go to Bites on Broadway. You'll really be super glad you did. Enjoy! (They also do lunch).

Went here for a simple cup cake as a snack and it was good. Small and pricy but everything in Alaska is. Enjoy!

Located on the cusp of the residential and business district, we have two dining rooms (Main Dining which is in same room as the Bar, bright, lively, can be a little loud; and the Red Room--quieter and less bright) and seating at the bar, with a small outdoor covered patio. The Brewery Gift Shop is connected to both dining rooms. Our Game Room with Foos Ball, Shuffle Board and a Pool Table is located directly above the Gift Shop. In the evenings sporting events are shown on the projector screen.
Enjoyed a beer flight including the spruce tip. I enjoyed the beer here and think they are doing some good things in regard to brews. Also had the onion rings that were good. The restaurant has a pub good atmosphere with efficient staff. As we were leaving around 5:30 it was getting crowded and people were starting to line up. We will definitely be back next time we are in Skagway to try some new brews.

This was another bakery into which we wandered while in Skagway. Once again, there was a limited selection, so I had a cookie that was about average. (I couldn't find anything that was "lemon" inside the Lemon Rose Bakery. If they had anything that was exceptional looking, it must have sold out already.

The Starfire restaurant has been delighting locals and the hundreds of thousands cruise ship passengers and crew that pass through Skagway, Alaska each and every summer. We pride ourselves in serving fresh, authentic food at reasonable prices (and let's face it this is Alaska so reasonable is relative!) Our recipes come from many sources including our Chef Judd's years spent living and traveling in Thailand, unique fresh salmon preparation, as well as big fat burritos recipe from Jeffrey's mother! We are passionate about what we do and are always striving to better serve our old friends as well as our new ones. Thank you all for making our dream of owning a healthy, sustainable, locally owned business amidst the beauty and wonder of Southeast, Alaska a reality! Jeffrey Hitt and Judd Davis Owner/operators
Attracted to restaurant by Thai food and outdoor seating area. Ambiance of place is very nice. Menu is kind of eclectic in that they serve variety of types of food. Mexican, Italian, Thai. We ordered Thai hot and sour fish and pad Thai. Was just average, ordered it spicy, their definition and mine don't coincide. Very pedestrian food.

Stood there for several minutes while guy bagging kettle corn saw me but kept on bagging. Other guy was busy arranging the rearranging the taffy at the window display. I guess they don't need the business as all I wanted was plain old popped popcorn.
