Red Bridges BBQ is legendary in NC. It is a destination and a must-visit if you are driving on Highway 74 West to the NC mountains. Bridges BBQ is a barbecue-smoking, selling machine! The place is always packed and the food is fresh and delicious. I love the chopped pork tray which has barbecue, slaw and hush puppies with tea for less than $10. Note: they are not open on Monday.

Freshly-roasted coffee every day! Extended hours. Lots of parking!
I was in this caffè for an espresso. It was very good, better that my standard Starbucks. Place is quite and relaxing, it seems family managed. Suggested.

Lots of options and great atmosphere inside. Its really cute how the tables inside looks like youre at a cafe. Friendly staff and they handled a large influx of customers with ease.

We arrived before 6:00 and benefited from a special price of $20 for soup or salad, choice of entree and dessert. Salmon on sauteed spinach & lentils, with bacon- succulent! Brie plate appetizer with crackers, and assorted fruit was absolutely wonderful. Also fresh bread was served when we first arrived and we paired our meal with wine- They have a vast variety of wines by bottle and glass. - yum

On the way back from the airport, thought I’d try this for a change of pace. Stopped in at the Shelby Cafe. The cafe was ok. Not the cleanest place in the world. The menu was good, lots of choices.
I chose and ate the Big Burger basket. It was good and very filling. $8.95 + $1.99 for the Coke. A little expensive for the atmosphere, but not bad.
Next time I am in town, I would try again. I would recommend this to others for a quick and easy stop, that is not fast food.

We were passing through Shelby on our way home from a trip and had someone recommend Pleasant City. The atmosphere is very nice and warm. The food is decent. The service is ok. We had some jalepeno pimento cheese dip and pretzels. It was good. Then we had a couple of different "create your own" pizzas. The pizzas were good and the ingredients were fresh, but they left the pepperonis off one of the pizzas and that was a bummer. We were done eating the pizza before the waitress ever made it back over to tell her. When we did tell her she did take it off the check (the pepperonis not the whole pizza) The waitresses were friendly but they didn't come around much and we had to flag them down several times to get refills and ask for other things. On the whole, it was a "pleasant" experience (pun intended) and I would definitely eat there again.

I struggled to rate Joe's. My meal was no better than a "2"...but the others in our group thought theirs was OK. So - I just couldn't bring myself to award a lower rating. But our experience suggests that ordering the right item makes all the difference in your appreciation of Joe's.
The atmosphere of Joe's is that of a typical, small town, main street restaurant that does a decent business catering to out-of-town visitors. Nothing special but perfectly acceptable. The larger room to the right behind the bar looks like a better place to sit than in the main room. We sat in the main room.
Joe's is a combo of pub food, Americana, and Thai. I know. It sounds a bit hard to pull off and their menu is super long for a small, not-so-busy restaurant. I always puzzle over how the kitchen can have available all the fresh ingredients necessary to whip-up 50 different meals on demand? I figure "fresh" is likely unrealistic in that case.
So I ordered a hamburger. And it was below average. In fact, one of the worst I've had in a long time - fast food included. The burger was thin and oddly shaped. The bun was maybe a little mushy and the result was the whole sandwich sort of fell apart in my hands. It was peppery and was probably frozen 15 minutes before I ate it. I ate much of my burger with a fork and knife. Huh?
Pet peeve - they use an off-brand ketchup that is runny and just not very good.
The service was fine and I saw a very nice bar area with many drafts available. I stuck to a mid-day soft drink.
So...my meal was a "2" but I'll give Joe's a "3". I suggest you very carefully consider what you're ordering.

I try many new out of town restaurants, based on a simple cheese or bacon burger, so there have been a lot. This was the juiciest (not greasy, juicy) with the most wonderful almost steak flavor. They are a brewery with good signage and delightful beers. But they also work with the community, during off season they host a small farmers market inside with eggs, beef, etc. turns our the beef for the burger was so good bc they do an exchange with a lcal farmer for beef, grain exchange which gives them top burgers, coming from top fed grain...just go! (Clean, modern, informative, friendly, very nice clean restrooms)

I really would like to give a five star review on this restaurant, but our waitress was not concerned with the details of our orders. She got several things wrong and acted like it was an inconvenience to fix it. Another waitress helped us, and she was excellent. The reason she helped us is because our waitress was too busy flirting with the guys at the table beside us, ha ha! Anyway, it was still a good experience and the food was pretty tasty.
