For and service are very good, but to me, I think they are pretty pricey. Menu includes pastas, pizzas and calzones.

Well I have been to this bakery in Shallotte twice now and I have to tell you I can't stop getting the same thing for my family for dessert. Their tre leche cake is delicious!!! Everyone loves it when I bring it home. I haven't tried anything else there. I do not know what the average prices are for cakes these days from a bakery because I rarely buy them, but their cakes are around $25.00 each. The tre leche cake is only around $8.00 including tax, that's another reason love it!

The Purple Onion Cafe opened on Main Street in Shallotte in 2004. Since then they have become a community favorite serving locals & visitors breakfast and lunch with a delicious menu of pastries, traditional breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts.
I live in the area and visit this restaurant often for breakfast and lunch. It is usually better than average quality of food. However the restaurant could use a good cleaning and some refreshing. I was recently disappointed to be served shredded iceberg lettuce on a Cesar salad. I was told they had recently changed the lettuce and given about $2 off my lunch without much concern about my dissatisfaction.

This was my second visit to the filling station. I picked up a variety in order for us to sample the different flavors. I thought they were all delicious. While I have already developed some favorites ( pb&j and Reese's) the others disappeared just as quickly. They seem to sell out quickly so there is benefit to getting there early. While the overall experiences have been good, I wish the staff was a bit more friendly and welcoming. Also, I didn't know at the time they have more in the back so not necessarily just what is in the glass case.

In 1978, C.W Hughes, Jr., who owned a paving company, and his wife Allison, a retired nurse, bought a small grill, motel and marina previously called Gregory's. It was located at the mouth of the Shallotte River and the Intracoastal Waterway. The grill had 13 stools around a bar and a small tackle shop. It was named Hughes Marina and home of the Poor Boy Shark Tournament for 14 years. It was a popular restaurant with the locals. It became home for Jr., Allison and their 11-year-old daughter, Samantha. For many of those years they poured their hearts and souls into the restaurant and marina. Their other daughter Amy and her husband John, both teachers, moved from Georgia to help. It continued to get bigger and attract more customers. In 1992, the girls took over the business, which continued to grow until they closed in 2004. On July 30, 2009, Sam and Timmy, her fiancé, opened the doors of Inlet View, a restaurant with a new look and an elevator that can take you to breathtaking views both from the restaurant on the first floor and a panoramic view from the bar on the second floor, which is surrounded by decks. Their dream became real with the help of friends and family.
The fried seafood platters are hot, fresh, large, and reasonably priced. The service is excellent. The views are outstanding. The game is on the TVs. The beer is cold. It even has an elevator, for people who need one. What else do you need?

Pelican's SnoBalls - shaved ice with over 100 flavors to choose from. Monthly flavors featured. Free activity area with toss board games, corn hole, and mini golf and much more. Picnic tables with shaded seating.
I had a cherry cola and my wife had the "Jamaican Me Happy". It was so good we both got another for the road! The ice is so smooth and creamy unlike hawaiin ice which is more coarse and crunchy. We will definitely be back.

We are a locally owned and operated restaurant. We pride ourselves on our food quality. We serve the freshest fish anywhere around. We know this because we catch the fish ourselves. If we don't have it, it's not biting! We have 7 big screen TV's around the restaurant so you can enjoy a wide array of sporting events while dining on any of our delicious menu options.
Great food, fun atmosphere, servicers very friendly! If you are a sports fan, great place to watch the games! My favorite is their Shrimp and Grits! Loads of different foods to choose from! Would recommend this restaurant.

The Fuzzy Peach is such a great place to grab a quick dessert and enjoy some family time. Great variety of yogurt and toppings. The young lady named Olivia was very pleasant and professional as she rang up our order.

We each had a salad (chef and anti pasta) and the were both very good and large. Judging by the number patrons and the turnover, it is obviously a very popular place. We saw a number of different dishes go by and the all looked nice. The menu is varied, offering a lot more than the traditional fried everything. We will definitely be returning.
