My wife and I have an annual ritual of dinner at Hyehold in the week before Christmas. This year was another terrific experience. Hyehold is an old mansion converted to a top end restaurant. The menu is limited - about a half dozen starters and another half dozen main courses. I have tried all main courses but one, and they are all excellent. The elk steak is their specialty, which I had this year and thoroughly enjoyed. Their sherry bisque is also a specialty and is delicious. The desserts are reasonable portions and not heavy. Also, if you enjoy a good Reisling, try the Nik Weis St. Urbans-Hof , a superior wine for $45 a bottle! We will definitely keep coming back.

We were visiting from out of town and haven't been here in years. Food was really good. We had the fried zucchini, Chicken Parmesan and pasta dishes. Everything was excellent. The food came out quickly but our service was not very attentive. It took awhile for someone to acknowledge our table after we were seated. All in all, good place with good food. It is also BYOB.

I picked up a cake for my daughters birthday yesterday and they did not make the cake as ordered. I requested raspberry filling in the cake and it wasn't there. This actually happened before but I thought I'd try again. Needless to say the disappointment on my kids faces will make this my last special order with cake with The Ultimate Pastry shop. Other bakery items are delicious.

Great menu, lots of selection. Service is very good. Perfectly located near the new Tull Family Theater. Parking is tight with street parking only and the spots are metered so you may as well kill two birds with one stone. Movie and dinner. I need to go back for the stuffed hot pepper hoagie. I had the Portobello mushroom sandwich. So good.

While my wife and her sister were in the yarn shop nearby, I spent some time here with a good coffee on a rainy day. It was mid-morning Monday and there were only a few people here, so I felt relaxed, and spent some time reading. The music was not loud as often is the case. My espresso was Starbucks quality and the staff was friendly. It's a nice urban setting.

Mid-morning, Monday; three of us; all of us cleaned our plates (omelette, croque monsieur, quiche). My leek-and-chèvre quiche, superlative; the tomato salad, chunks of things that looked quite like tomatoes, tasted nothing like tomatoes, but were nonetheless -- thanks to the dressing? -- rather tasty. Ambiance: A few Frenchy bits here and there on the walls do not noticeably enliven a dark low-ceilinged room.
But the quiche! Quiche to the rescue, quiche saviour, quiche amazing, quiche that made me want to follow the chefs around the kitchen wondering aloud, HOW do you do that? until they betray their secret. Vive la quiche!
And to order tomato salad in January was just silly, so shame on me.

I know I have reviewed this place before but . . . every visit deserves a comment. I just love this place! Both the quantity and quality of the food here is awesome and the service is extremely friendly and efficient. They have a never-ending coffee cup and the coffee level rarely gets very far below the rim of your cup. My wife doesn't like that . . . you know, the coffee to creamer to sweetener ratio, but I love it 'cause its great coffee. I do miss the "Tronz" burrito from the menu, but it has broadened my horizons there. Today after an all-night fasting blood test, I tried the "Arizona Omelet" - wow it was huge and delicious. After being so hungry, I still had plenty to take home for another meal, and not because I had umpteen cups of coffee. It's tight quarters in cold weather since the porch is closed (although they'd probably serve you there if you wanted to be outside), but they never rush you away from your table. They have a take-out parking spot out front if you want to call ahead. I wish they were open for dinners - I can just imagine what their meals would be like!

Home of the Almost Famous Sandwich! Half Priced Happy Hour Every Day!
Great sandwiches and atmosphere. Value is excellent and we enjoyed our meal. Split the sandwich if your not that hungry.

This is where to go for ice cream; it's a small place in the heart of Sewickley that gets busy during the summer but in Fall on a weeknight evening we were the only ones there. We did a taste test of the pumpkin ice cream vs. the pumpkin gelato; both were very good with the ice cream winning out due to less cinnamon and a better mouth feel. Can't wait to go back.

This is a coffee shop. That's about it. In Sewickley it's the alternative to Starbucks, and it has much better coffee, a quieter atmosphere, and somewhat faster service. It also has really excellent biscotti and a handful of other morning nibbles, including some quite healthy alternatives. It also has several quiet seating areas and computer tables with power sources. No one rushes you out, and, indeed, you could hang out pretty much as long as you like.
I have coffee here every morning, six or seven days a week, and it's a block from my office. Very pleasant staff.
