On our way home from skiing at Whiteface, hungry, we stopped at the Lakeview just off the highway in Saranac Lake.
A local favourite (we discovered), and overwhelmed by the choices we asked the locals for advice.
Great sandwiches and a pleasant staff.
You won't leave hungry.

We are now closed for the winter season.
We will see you when we reopen Memorial Day Weekend 2018!!
Thanks for a great 2017 Summer everyone!!
My Daughter and I found this place by accident a few years back when we went camping in the Adirondacks. I was just back in the area again camping with my kids and grandkids. We stopped on our way to Rollins, my grandkids loved it so much they asked to go back. They only serve one flavor per day usually twisted with Vanilla. I've only had one flavor I didn't like which was Lemon Twist. I generally can't eat most ice cream without regretting it soon after I finish it due to heartburn but this ice cream has never bothered me probably because it's not highly processed.

This deli offers a great variety of all types of sandwiches and homemade soups. The cooler contains a nice variety of homemade sides. With four people working the counter serves was most efficient. Seating is somewhat limited with four small tables. The intimacy provided a great opportunity to speak with regulars who willingly provided a wonderful insight on the area.

We stopped here for dinner as it was rated the best restaurant in Saranac Lake. The atmosphere is very casual and plain. It looks more like a bookstore than a restaurant. The food was good but not fabulous. Prices are reasonable. There was a talented guitar player performing on this Saturday night.

There really isn't much to say about a place that serves ice cream and fast food other than the fact that I've never gotten sick eating there. It's strictly standard fare. If you're there on a warm day, it's nice to sit out back on the dock, looking out at Lake Flower.

We always stop at the DD on our way home which is a 5 hour drive. The staff is always very friendly and prompt. The food is exactly as you expect from a DD, although not every DD takes the same care to prepare the food and coffee properly, but this one does.

The Red Fox Restaurant serves Steak, Chicken, Seafood, and Pasta entrees. We also have a full bar with wine and beer. We take reservations 7 days a week, we also can accommodate large parties.
Skip Lake Placid, this place is the real deal. Particularly great for families or solo travelers at the bar (me). Like stepping back in time, to a time when families owed and operated businesses. It's the friendly personal touch that makes one feel welcome. And oh yeah the food is delicious.

Since 1996, a casual place to relax, grab a snack or meal any time of the day or night. Traditional coffee bar, beer and wine and alcohol, specialty baked goods and cheeses. Unique menus & specials. Saranac Lakes best kept secret for evening meals!
Found this place by asking a pedestrian on the street in Saranac Lake where I might find a good lunch. They advised me that you can always get a good lunch at the Blue Moon. They have somewhat of an eclectic menu. I ordered a...MoreThanks for you input. What kind of sand did you have?

Thank you Jill for the great service! My son is gluten, dairy, and soy free. She made helpful suggestions and held the cheese on the house salad - we didn't even know to ask for this! The clam chowder was one of the best we've had. We ordered the Chili Supreme, Grilled Salmon, Fried Haddock, and Brisket Dinner. At $14.95 for the brisket, it was definitely a good value. All of these menu items were more than satisfactory. The fries were a little disappointing, so you might want to explore other sides.
