It's been a while since I last ate at Flappy's. I had not stopped because every time that I wanted to visit, the place was packed with people out the door (and I am serious, not joking). Since it changed ownership several years ago, the number of patrons have just grown like crazy. I started coming to Flappy's when it first opened and it was more of a locals place. We ate there at least once a week but then the crowds just started to grow and grow and GROW! I've never had a bad experience with the food or the service at Flappy's. In fact, Flappy's was one of the first places to really expand on their pancake menu. I would try one of their specialty pancakes and then a few months later, I would see a commercial for that pancake house with a very similar offering. Hmm...I asked the old owner (Perry was his name) and he said he had a few visitors from IHOP stop by so it didn't surprise him that he was getting copied.
Anyhow, this review is about my most recent visit in October. Since it had been at least two or three years since I last ate there, I was curious to see if service or food quality had changed. Well, everything is still the same and the quality is just as good. I ordered the lunch version of the Asian Chicken Salad and it was supposed to be the half portion. For a lunch portion, the salad was huge and I was full after I barely finished it. The chicken is grilled and it was so flavorful. There are also slivered almonds, mandarin oranges, wonton strips and pieces of celery. The dressing is just divine and I highly recommend this salad to anyone who likes Asian Chicken salad. You will not be disappointed with the quality and portion.
Let me address the crowd issue, we came at noon on a Friday. The place was still full and we had to wait about 10 minutes to get seated. By the time we left at 1pm, the place had thinned out a lot. Flappy's closes at 3pm so the crowds deminish after lunch. The great thing about coming a bit later is that you can still have breakfast and try one of their delicious omelettes, pancakes, waffles, crepes or skillets. I hope to come back soon but I need to time it well since I avoid the place on the weekends and my best bet would be to stop by during the week. Oh and if you come on a holiday weekend (Mother's Day, Easter, Christmas break, etc) forget about getting seated quickly because you are going to wait, wait, WAIT!

Long tome favorite pizza parlor in old town La Verne brings friends and families together. I love their sandwiches and salads as well as the breadsticks! The pizza is the best in town, but you will find a lot of locals on the patio in the evenings. Whether you're watching a game, playing in the arcade, sipping beer with friends, or visiting relatives this is the place to meet!

The Service: 2 cashiers. Service is slow, always a long line waiting.
The Donut: Tried the famous strawberry donut and apple filing donut. Hmmm... overrated. The donuts are overly sweet. Strawberries have so much sugar coated on it and the dount becomes soggy of the syrup. The apple filing is so sweet, couldn't even have more than a few bites.
The fruit fillings are great idea but just not too much sugar please.....
The Parking: Private parking lot and street parking (free)

I live very near to Twisted Sage and somehow I only decide to visit on the weekends when its the busiest. I need to visit during the week when its not very packed. Anyhow, I have been here several times and I can't say enough about their Chipotle Cheese potatoes. Those special potatoes are excellent. I've ordered several different breakfast dishes and I always upgrade the potatoes because they are delicious. They also have the best homemade sausage. My husband said the sausage reminds him of his youth when his family would eat homemade sausage and not the store bought kind. The service here is always top notch and the line to order does go quickly but my biggest concern is finding a place to sit when its busy. I do plan to visit very soon during the week when its a bit more calmer.

My friend and USC Trojan football tailgating buddy Mike Perry has established a wonderful business in San Dimas, a great place to relax with friends, sip their excellent tea and coffee, and dinbe on their dellicious "Eggle" (bagel with egg and bacon) for breakfast.

If you're in or passing through San Dimas and are looking for a great place to have lunch or dinner, Lucky Elephant is the place to go.
The Thai restaurant is clean and well decorated, with several elephant figurines staged all over the restaurant for good luck, and the service is great, not amazing, but definitely above average. And the service, coupled with the cuisine definitely has me believing that luck is on their side, food is outstanding!
We started with their highly recommended Crab Rangoon - little pouches of filo dough stuffed with a crab & cream cheese mixture, the deep fried and served along side their spicy/sweet dipping sauce......sooooo good!
Next, we shared a pot of Tom Yum Soup. It was delicious, and the small chunks of white fish inside it were so good. The soup was a nice hot and sour soup of clear broth, fish, lemongrass, ginger, and several other spices and herbs. It wasn't too spicy, it was a perfect balance of hot and sour, with amazing bits of delicate white fish, we could have eaten 3 bowls of this. We definitely didn't expect the soup to be that delicious lol.
Next came the main course......
Pineapple fried rice with beef, chicken, shrimp, veggies, curry, and cashews.
Spicy pork with green beans
Crispy duck with Chinese broccoli and garlic
Pad See Ew - thai flat noodles with stir fried beef, Chinese broccoli, veggies, and herbs..
All of these were so delicious and a perfect later afternoon/early dinner for a Saturday . The best part was the leftovers.....as we dove back in at home around 8pm for round 2!
If you like Thai food and are in or close to San Dimas, you should definitely check this place out, you won't be disappointed. We have always had consistently good food here, no matter what we've ordered. Pricing is more than reasonable and it's a great place to take your family, and even larger groups as well.

Good food, good service. When you enter the strip mall parking lot, this place is almost in the middle back and the signage is partially blocked until you're right on it. I was impressed by the pizza made exactly how I requested. The calamari was disappointing (fried/frozen like it came from a box).

Have visited it several times, found the place welcoming and consistently good. Great rolls are available as well as fresh sushi. Has tables and a sushi bar. Never tried the tables. Service has always been good. Will continue to visit.

We had a group of 10 who met here for a late breakfast. Location is freeway close and easy to find. Both breakfast and lunch meals were very good with ample portions. (The omelet breakfasts could easily be shared). We had to wait for 30 minutes for a table to accommodate our group, which could have been avoided had the staff paid attention to where they were sitting other guests. Otherwise, the wait staff was friendly and accommodating to our group. The restaurant is modern with a vintage feel, which was fun, and overall very affordable. Enjoy!

At In-N-Out Burger, quality is everything. Stop by to enjoy our menu of hamburgers, cheeseburgers, french fries and shakes. In-N-Out makes fast food the old fashioned way.
I stopped by for a Double, Double and a chocolate milkshake. The place was very busy, drive thru lane included but also clean. The server was very friendly and my order arrived on the counter soon after just as I requested with lots of extra onions. You can never go wrong eating at In-N-Out. Clean restrooms, outside tables and a good sized parking area.
