We are driving from Florida to DC and read about Shug’s being about a mile off of i95. Our bellies are very satisfied with yummy food (fried green tomatoes, shrimp-n-grits, and fried chicken).

The food was tasty, the restaurant and bathroom were very clean, and the staff was so helpful and genuinely nice.

Definitely recommended!!

Asked for cherry topping. Out! Asked for marshmallow. Out! Ordered Blizzards. The mini extended over the top of the cup. The small did not come to the top. Seemed like the same amount in both cups but, of course, paid more for the small.

Skynyrd's Grill and Sports Bar

Good local dive, may be a bit off putting for some. Staff while nor overly friendly are prompt, courteous and attentive. Food is moderately priced and well proportioned. Burgers are thicker than most other places. Small town southern dive bar without being honky.

Georgio's Pizza and Restuarant

Reviewed By Steven B - Harrisburg, North Carolina, United States

I stopped and enjoyed the buffet for lunch. It's quite a buffet and the food is good. While I originally went for just pizza, I was surprised at the other items available including salad, barbeque pork, meatballs, okra, etc. Lots of great southern food in addition to the Italian food. I recommend it for a nice stop, especially if you're traveling through on I95.

I stop here anytime i am in the area and it is lunch/dinner time. Much better than the fast food options and the quality is good. I order the buffet because it is quick and fresh and the selection is good. They are always bringing out fresh pizzas but my favorite is the baked chicken and green beans.

Waffle House

Reviewed By rkhawg - Lakeland, FL

I've always praised the Waffle House chain for its consistency - in both food and service.
If you've visited one, you know exactly what to expect from EVERY other WH in the country.
Or so we thought.

It was 7:41 AM, on a weekday, and there were only 3 other customers in the restaurant.
In hindsight, maybe that should have told us something.

Long story short: if it could go wrong - it did.
Our orders came out wrong, and were sent back.
The food quality was FAR below what (thought) we know to expect from a WH.
When I addressed the issue to the manager, the response I got was - she rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders.

I never thought I would say this, but - AVOID THIS WAFFLE HOUSE.

Subway

Reviewed By Citallwic - Columbia, South Carolina

Subway shops situated in convenience stores like this one offer decent food and service, and are OK for takeout, but they leave a lot to be desired when it comes to dine-in. The little booths are just too close to the merchandise displays. I patronized this Subway only because the convenience store/gas station complex was the designated meeting place for a shelter rescue cat transport I was helping with.

This Subway is close to the I-95 interchange and offers easy access for interstate motorists.

Denny's

Reviewed By ColinPM - Milton Keynes

Most travellers know Denny's fare is usually quick and cheap and not fine dining but this stop after a long drive was better than expected. The server called Parris was so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. All food was hot and quickly served with lots of drink refills. Was above expectations for a meal at basically a truck stop.
