We've been eating here for years and years and they never disappoint. Among our group Shrimp stuffed Quail, Micahs Snapper and Grilled shrimp and Grits. Followed by shared Junk Berry Pie topped with ice cream. So yummy. Reservations a must. Do miss this place.

Wanting to meet friends halfway between Austin & Houston, we agreed on JWs in Carmine, about 75 miles for the 4 of us.
Having passed by many times, we had medium expectations as it’s hard to imagine out here in this quaint small old time village. But it surpassed those thoughts.
First, driving up to the restaurant at noon on a Tuesday, we were surprised to see how many vehicles were already there, and lots of pickups. Well that bode well for us as these folks wouldn’t eat someplace that wasn’t pretty darn good.
Inside we were again surprised at the quality of country furnishings & high vaulted wood beam ceilings. Also it’s larger than we would have thought.
On the blackboard was the free internet password & the assorted daily specials.
We were greeted & seated promptly and provided menus with a large choice of items.
Beer (tap & bottle) & wines are available.
We ordered 4 different items between us & each of us were very happy w/our choices.
There’s also some huge desserts available & looked good, but willpower held at least this time.
Our server was very efficient and very friendly and made us very happy.
This place is a keeper as far as we’re all concerned. We’ll be back.

We had Texas Trash Pie and Pecan Pie and both were OUTSTANDING!! We had them both with Blue Bell Ice Cream, of course!!
I don't think you could go wrong with any of their pies here.
Will have to try some different ones when we come back!!

We visited Roundtop in December 2016. Found this great cafe called Espressions. Run by Johnny and his wife. You all sit at the big table so you have to get too meet the locals. Great coffee and Johnny will sing for you. It's a must very unique.

Had dinner here with my husband while on a visit to Round Top. Our waitress, Joan, was very friendly and warm. Many of the restaurant employees have worked here for many years. The food and portions were good. Salad bar had good choices. The restaurant takes credit cards now.

Unfortunately our friends at Los Patrones in Round Top, Texas did not get the lease on the building back and will be leaving at the end of November 2017. We will miss you all.
Will have to drive to Giddings now for Los Patrones!!!!!!
Check out their new steakhouse in Giddings Tx "Santa Fe"

Being born and raised in Chicago I know freekin pizza. Bistro Napoletana in beautiful downtown Round Top Texas is the best wood fired pizza oven pizza in Texas. Also now with Master Chef Matthew Reynolds the daily specials like drunken short ribs and Filet Mignon chicken fried steak is off the hook..Great selection of incredible wines and local beers..

We were greeted warmly when we entered & enjoyed the nice selection of food! We started with the yummy cheesy white queso & then moved onto a chicken sandwich with steak fries! It hit the spot after a long day of sightseeing. Cute place, we were pooped but, it was karaoke night.
