I asked my hotel clerk to recommend a local restaurant to get a lighter lunch. She told me about the Cafe Chris. The menu was a nice mix of salads, sandwiches, burgers, Mexican, and American fare. I chose the Turkey Bacon Croissant. While waiting for my food, I glanced around at the decor. It was decorated with model trains, train memorobilia, and photos of trains. When I left, I asked one of the waitresses who was the train buff, and she told me it was her Grandfather. He worked for the railroad, and opened the restaurant after he retired. The restaurant was patronized by many of the locals, who knew the wait staff personally, so there were friendly conversations going on all around me. There was a nice hometown feel about the place. My sandwich was good-nothing exceptional to note. Prices were average, sandwiches and burgers less than $10, dinner plates slightly more. I got plenty of attention from the wait staff, who stayed busy even as the lunch hour was winding down. It was nice to visit a local spot to see a glimpse of the locals, and get a good lunch. I would visit again if I'm ever in the area.

Most DQ's are pretty much alike, some cleaner than others, some have better service, some make better Blizzards. I usually have to have two or three Blizzards a week, so I stop here regularly. They do a good job on them and make them right. I also like to have the tacos once in a while for some reason. They have always been fresh and not too greasy.

Original location of the local chain.
Very rustic but well tasting brisket, chicken, and really good sausage, all that served on butcher paper and plastic tray. No Michelin stars there yet good natured cutters and cashiers. We may not be back, this was our first drive through the town but if we are back this would be a great Texas outback venture. No cheap; half-pound meat plate will set you back 15 dollars, all that with beans and potato salad.. Now three days later our bellies are still in great shape..lol

Had a large business meeting here and really loved the appetizers. The bacon wrapped shrimp and the potato skins are a must! The salad was very good with nice greens. The wait staff kept our drinks full without having to ask but our waitress took orders across multiple guests so some areas for improvement their. The main dishes were all very tasty and had nice presentation. The view of the golf course is amazing with the very old trees that cover the property. Great place to eat. Little bonus...when you drive into the facility take your time to admire the gorgeous old trees and note the cactus that grow in the tops of some of them...very unique.

We love this DQ, and try to stop here for lunch every time we drive home to San Antonio from the coast. Food is hot and fresh and tasty. Personnel are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Today (it's 40F and I'm cold) I asked for coffee and they made a fresh pot for me. Thank you, Pleasanton DQ. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Nothing boring about this place! Plenty of menu choices, something for everyone. Meaty traditional style wings, bottomless fresh made potato chips were a highlight! Kids enjoyed the sliders. Service was very good. Have to return and explore more of the menu next time.

Best of all type Mexican food entree you would like! Love there chips and salsa and cheese queso! Che's, beef or chicken enchiladas are great! Side dishes are always tasty and a wonderful complement to your entree choice! Service is always fast and great!

I have eaten at China garden for the last 15 years and it never disappoints, I have not been able to find anything even close to competing with their sesame chicken, it's a shame they had to close on weekends, but this is my go-to place to eat when I am in town. Wonderful food period.

Will never dine here again. Water glasses with lots of flakes of something floating in them. Requested new glass of water and received yet another glass of water with floaters and the waiter acted inconvenienced by our request for clean water. Food was very unappetizing. The food temperature was near room temperature, certainly not hot. I've had better flavor quality at fast food Chinese chains. In the end I barely ate because I felt the food was not thoroughly cooked and was therefore possibly prepared in an unsafe manner.
