Lord...even as I write this I'm salivating! Stopped for dinner after a long afternoon at Pipestone National Monument. So glad we did.
Stumbled onto a restaurant with great homemade food and equally great service (thanks Michelle!)
Portions...large. Price...reasonable. Selection of food....various. Whatever you do...SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! You won't be disappointed!

What can I say Icecream is always good any time of year. Chilly cheese footlong are finger licking good. Teenage staff sometimes too interested in impressing friends, Staff is sometimes really slow when the manager is not around but that doesn't happen too often. But overall good service & food.

They have awesome Panini's, and different kinds of sandwiches. I had like a Hawaiian type of sandwiche and I lived it. I've tried many others before and they too are just so yummy. And you also get noodle type salad. They also have many diff. kinds of ice or hit latte' and Expressos and you can even get a smoothy. Also diff. kinds of coffees and pastries. The service has always been good too. I just have no complaints at all! Can't wait to go there again!

Holy cow! They blew me away yesterday. I showed up super late for the buffet with my 3 and 4 year old. Instead of directing us to their regular menu, they went and cooked a bunch of fresh food for us and kept piling it on our table! Then sent us home with all the left overs as the buffet was done. They were so sweet and even chased me down when I left my purse there. They are truly serving the Lord when they serve you!

I've had Dar's several times when visiting my in-laws in Pipestone, and I know it's a town institution. That being said, it can sometimes take a while to get it delivered (and they are located just a few blocks away). This last time we had ordered several pizzas for a get- together. They do not skimp on cheese! In fact, there could have been even a little less, although it was still delicious. The crust is not my favorite - seems a little doughy and chewy - but at least it isn't over-salted. I've never been to Dar's location, so I cannot speak for the service in the restaurant, but overall I like it and would (and probably will) eat it again.

Fun, Fresh, Friendly! We take pride in the fresh and homemade flavors of our midwest soul food. Join us for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and choose from a great wine and beer selection!
Seems to be about the only restaurant IN downtown Pipestone. The restaurant was closed the night we were there (Saturday), the lounge had the same menu. Menu was unremarkable - steaks, burgers and bar food. Service seemed slow, servers over-worked. The bartender was also our server and was also the hotels' front-desk operator at the time.
The kitchen did not let us know that they were out of the steak that i ordered until my wifes' order was ready to come out. When the food arrived it was OK, but nothing special. No noticeable garlic in the garlic mashed potatoes, for example.
Drinks were OK, atmosphere was noisy but not TOO noisy. Football game on the TV, 80s power pop on the PA.
Breakfast the next morning also unremarkable and a bit over-priced. The hotel room charge includes Continental breakfast only, but full breakfast is available for an extra charge. We didn't bother.

McDonalds in Pipestone has fast and friendly service. My orders are always accurate and the food is good and hot. I particularly like their fries and the McCafe lattes. Must stop for commuters on Hwys 30 and 75.

You can't beat a sandwich you make yourself. No surprises! We were in and out in five minutes. The luncheon meat and cheese seemed fresh, the lettuce was crisp and the bread appeared fresh baked. Perfect for out-of-towners like us who just wanted a good, quick meal!

Good pizza for a filling station if you are lucky enough to get some before all the travelers do. Could use more Canadian bacon pizza at noon - way too many sausage out. Breakfast pizza is to die for - yummy!!

The reason to go to New Country is the buffet and their Coconut chicken or shrimp - really excellent dish. They do have a variety of entrees, and several different "tidbits," like Chinese doughnuts, wings, etc and a salad and dessert bar. It's not a huge place and it seems the kids of the owners are the servers, and perhaps not happy about it, but hey, it's a small town. It's nice they have a Chinese restaurant at all. It's also very inexpensive; for three people for Sunday buffet, it was only $30. Compared to a larger city, that was a bargain.
