Don’t miss this place tucked in the pines slightly behind the gas station on the main road. It’s got something good for any kind of weather or time of day. Ice cream cones, cups, sundaes and banana splits; homemade fudge; coffees, milk shakes, soft drinks; large cinnamon rolls, etc. We stopped in a couple of times during a hot week in June: on a busy Father’s Day afternoon and a quieter day later in the week. The owners working behind the counter were friendly both times, and engaged in conversation when they had the time between customers.
They offer a nice selection of Dreyers ice cream (a dozen +). Don’t be afraid to ask about flavors. I saw a flavor listed on the wall, but didn’t see it in the case, but they had it. The servings are large. We enjoyed the homemade fudge, also in a good variety of flavors – some unusual and invented by the owners. I can vouch for the butter pecan.
The décor and seating are a combination of ice cream shoppe and café: bistro sets and a sofa inside with additional seating outside on the porch.

My husband and I went here early on Sunday night and saw a lot of cars on the parking lot but no one seemed to be waiting, so we went on in. Tables were available inside and out, and we sat at one of the tables beside the door. The server, Desiree, was very nice and told me the names of every craft beer available. I ordered a glass of Octoberfest. My husband and I split a chopped Italian salad with the perfect amount of dressing which appeared quickly (accompanied by two cool breadsticks) and was like an antipasto. We also shared one Hawaiian BBQ pizza which was awesome! We left two pieces which we took home.

Don't let the name fool you!! This is a family friendly restaurant for lunch. The server was very sweet with the girls, and the cheeseburgers were a huge hit! I am really glad we popped in on the fly after visiting the Llama ranch. Grab a burger and enjoy!!!

Near Payson, AZ on the road up to Camp Verde
Great lunch with a new menu. I had the freshly made grilled chicken breast with avocado and melted Swiss. Partner had Southwest green Chile burger and fries.
Both were made fresh (no pregrilled chicken then reheated) and the fresh buns were grill-toasted as well.
All sides order and accompaniments (lettuce, tomato, pickle, etc. ) were fresh and tasted good.
We sat by a window and watched the busy activity at the bird feeder. We counted at least ten different types of birds (some bird couples included) and four fat cute squirrels.
Both meals were top-notch and compared excellently with restaurant fare we are accustomed to in Scottsdale and Phoenix AZ.
So, give it a try if you're in the Pine-Strawberry area. If you are like us and haven't been to this restaurant in a while, it's time to give it another try.
Cute mountain life decor inside, large outside, in-the-pines deck and open-view kitchen add to the experience. Owner/bar tender mentioned happy hour to us and we plan on going soon.
Highly recommended for couples, families and visitors.

It is a very small deli but they have outside seating. They were pretty quick with the food. Beautiful scenery.

Drove up from Fountain Hills to visit the Tonto Natural Bridge. Stopped here afterwards for a beer and something to eat. Sat outside and placed our order of a beer, Bloody Mary special, mild chicken wings and elk tacos. After sitting outside a few minutes we both agreed it was too cold and moved inside and sat at the bar. The bartender says "I hope you told your waitress that you were moving!" Of course we did and our food was delivered to the bar. My husband loved the IPA beer and I soon discovered that the chicken wings were not mild at all...they were hot! I kept them and asked our waitress if they were mild and she replies....."that's why I don't order them!" She never warned me. The bar maid never got any nicer, she clearly was annoyed that we we sitting at her bar (station) and she would not receive a tip for anything that she might do on our behalf, like serving us water. What a grouch! The food was good otherwise. After one drink we got out of there. We will look for the same brewery in their Cottonwood location.

Went here for breakfast on way back home to Phoenix. Had basic breakfast of scrambled eggs, flavorful homefries and a wonderful buttermilk breakfast. Husband had same but also added sausage. This place is busy but the allows time for socializing. Very good. Worth the stop.

This was my first time here at this restaurant and I was not disappointed. We had great service with one of the most friendly waitresses I have ever seen. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The inside of the restaurant was absolutely spotless. I will definitely come back here if I am in the area.

This quaint historical restaurant serves up Florentine eggs superbly prepared and plated.
Sitting outside under the spruces and grand maple trees on a mild day made my day. I really like to cook, but this is something that I wouldn't attempt, so it was well worth it.

Arrived on a Thursday a little before 5pm. The front door was open but the screen door was locked. Waited about ten minutes until we heard people talking. Women's voice; "Should I let them in?". Man's voice; "No, let them wait." We decided not to.What...Moremy husband that it was not worded right he told the waitress to wait a minute
