First, if you are looking for a traditional breakfast, this is not the place for you. Although the food seemed fresh, it was far from any traditional breakfast that you may have experienced in the past. So, let's say that you are actually looking for something different and unique, well don't go here on a weekend. The crowds were lined out of the door. You think that you have time to waste for a leisurely breakfast? How much time do you have? Do you have an hour waiting for a seat and another hour waiting for food? Again, the food was good, not great. The staff was pleasant, not overly. The prices were very high for breakfast and the wait was unacceptable.

I like the Blue Cow and so do my friends. It is large enough to seat a lot of people for lunch. You order up at the counter. There is a wide array of yummy salads and lots of different choices when it comes to sandwiches and soup. I usually choose a salad and a half a sandwich. My favorite is Turkey avocado. Bread choices include a yummy whole grain. There are sweets as well.It is a great place to meet friends for lunch. There are big jugs of water with lemon so you can always refill your water glass.

I'm a huge espresso fan and always seek out artisanal, local coffee places when I travel. The hosts at the AirBnB I was staying at in downtown Grass Valley recommended Caroline's and it fit the bill. It's a great local coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating, great coffee, a limited selection of baked goods and cute coffee mugs and accessories. If you like espresso, this is probably your best bet in town and they open at 7am 7 days a week, which is a huge plus.

We absolution LOVE the South Pine Cafe in Nevada City. It’s one of the most picturesque little towns to visit and this restaurant is delightful. We’ve been going here for years whenever we drive to the area. Several of our family and friends are either vegetarians, very health conscious or have dietary restrictions and SPC caters to all types of customers. Their menu is so diverse you will have a good time trying to decide what to order.
It’s very popular so depending on when you arrive, weekday vs. weekend, time of year, etc., you could have a 15- 25 minute wait. We usually have weekend brunch which is a heavy populated meal time and it’s worth the wait. The staff are very accommodating and the food is so fresh and well prepared.
They offer a tofu scramble selection that is delicious. Their regular scrambles and huevos rancheros are fantastic, the omelettes, lobster dishes, french toast and pancake selections are very good too. You really can’t go wrong with any option. Their homemade baked goods, breads and homemade jams are also delicious. I enjoy mimosas and they never disappoint.
They are located right off the Main Street and there is plenty of street parking or lot parking available.
They serve breakfast and lunch. We are usually so full from the morning meal we have never tried the lunch but we plan to at some point. Lol.
We highly recommend it and look forward to our trips there. Enjoy!

We enjoyed this place so much we went two nights in a row! Pesto fries were amazing. Garlic fries had a bit too much raw bite to them. Asian Chicken Salad was very large, good dressing, but would have preferred Mandarin oranges to Parmesan cheese (Cheese isn’t an Asian food!). Black Cherry house-made soda was very nice - just barely sweet. Appreciated well-raised meats, gluten free options. If we lived here we’d come back often. .

Twelve 28 Kitchen A warm & comfortable social gathering place where our passion is on food that we make from the heart and the people we get to enjoy it with! We source local ingredients when possible as well as local craft beers and wine. We look forward to having you as our guest!
We tried this place for the first time last month, after reading favorable reviews and hearing good things about it from friends. It has kind of a store-front location, but once inside, the interior is casual-elegant. The chef uses fresh, seasonal ingredients, so the menu changes regularly. They have a nice wine list, and a knowledgeable staff.
We had a reservation on a Saturday night. The place was busy, but we were seated promptly. It took a little longer than expected for the food to be served, but the staff checked in with us frequently, to make sure that our beverages were topped off, and to see if we wanted additional glasses of wine.
The prices are somewhat high here, compared to other area restaurants, but the food is excellent and the portions are generous. I had Korean short rib tacos. There were three of them. Very tasty and filling. My husband had pork tenderloin, which was served with a quinoa pancake. The combination of flavors in his dish sounded unusual at first, but the end result was delicious.
We'll definitely come back here again.

We were seated in the 'sun room' which overlooks the lovely outdoor patios. It was chilly outside but a number of customers sat outside in the sun. A nice option. The waitress service was efficient if not warm. Helper bees were very accommodating. Food was very nice and the indoor spaces warm and inviting. Will visit again soon.

If you want pizza, you can’t go wrong. Northridge also has a wide variety of excellent burgers. Their menu is American with appetizers, pasta, fish and chips, sandwiches and salads. They also have special nights where they feature Mexican food, ribs, etc. Very popular locally with a bar where locals watch sports while enjoying a varied beer selection. Restaurant tends to be noisy so we try to sit in the back room where there are booths as well as tables. It is quieter so you can converse more easily. Kids menu as well. Good for families.
